DOUGHERTY ASSOCIATES - Key Persons

Dennis G. Dougherty established Dougherty Associates in September of 1984. Mr. Dougherty has in excess of thiry years in the tax and accounting profession. In 1993 he was licensed as an Enrolled Agent. This designation allows him to represent taxpayers at all adminisrative levels of the Internal Revenue Service. Being an Enrolled Agent means our clients will never have to meet with the Internal Revenue Service again! Unlike an attorney or CPA who may or may not specialize in taxes, all EAs specialize in taxation. EAs are the ONLY taxpayer representative who receives the right to practice from the United States Government. (Attorneys and CPAs are licensed by individual states). In addition to his status as an Enrolled Agent, Mr. Dougherty has earned the title of Accredited Tax Advisor(ATA) from the Accreditation Council for Accountancy and Taxation, an affiliate of the National Society of Accountants in June of 2001. Continuing professional education is required to maintain both the EA and ATA active status.
