IMA - Key Persons
I joined the Institute's Board in September 2021, having been involved in debt advice for 13 years. I'm particularly interested in the wellbeing of debt advisers and in their professional networking.
I also sit on the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Working Group, as I'm committed to assisting the IMA in reaching their aims regarding diversity and inclusion.
My current role includes providing second-tier advice to debt advisers and editing a monthly debt ebulletin. I was an IMA Council Representative for three years and I currently serve on the Quarterly Account Editorial Committee.

New to the world of the IMA, I joined the Board in February 2021 as a co-opted member.
I am a self-confessed privacy, information security and governance geek with 25+ years of experience of leveraging technology, regulation & policy to drive trust and to protect the organisations and people. This was a primary driver for me joining the IMA Board to support the organisation through their upcoming technology transformation.
Away from my desk, I'm an avid gardener, nature guide and wild-crafter. I'm currently learning how to make ice cream and have recently become curator of a local medieval vegetable and herb garden

I joined the Board in 2018.
Before joining Citizens Advice over 30 years ago, providing debt/welfare benefits advice, I was an NHS biochemist laboratory worker. For over 20 years I have worked in financial capability and financial literacy, championing a client's right to choose.
I'm also a Trustee with two local charities, one a mental health service, the other within an almshouse, both having vulnerable clients often needing face to face support.
As an IMA Board member, my main interests are Social Policy and DRO governance and I assist with the annual conference where I can.
Having benefitted from free debt advice, I changed careers to become a debt adviser over 20 years ago.
Passionately believing that everyone is entitled to free, professional and best money advice, I joined my local Money Advice Group. I became their representative to the Council, later joining the Board and being elected as Chair in 2017. I still believe that money advisers should be better known and appreciated.
As a grandmother of ten, I don't have a lot of spare time but am a keen medievalist and fan of the Dragonriders of Pern.

I joined the IMA Trustee Board in February 2021 and am the IMA's Treasurer.
I'm a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, member of the Institute of Directors, and a product of my local comprehensive school. I have skills in strategy, leadership, financial management and financial planning.

I became an IMA Trustee in 2019.
I write the Debt Camel blog. I was a volunteer adviser at my local Citizens Advice for nearly 20 years. I am interested in debt advice policy - especially in relation to credit affordability, IVA mis-selling and credit scores - and how changes will affect the debt advice that we give.
I am the IMA Secretary and I am also on the Quarterly Account editorial committee. I try to attend a variety of MAGs - I thinking listening to IMA members is an important part of the role of a board member.
