Those of us who live here can tell anyone who asks, that we live at Pelican Point or we play golf here and almost everyone will know where we mean. But notice, I called this history, PELICAN POINT…POINT HOUMAS, and for good reason... Gonzales is a city in Ascension Parish, Louisiana, United States. As of the 2010 census, it had a population of 9,781. Known as the "Jambalaya Capital of the World", it is famous for its annual Jambalaya Festival, which was first held in 1968... Burnside is an unincorporated community in Ascension Parish, Louisiana, United States. It was founded by French and German settlers in 1726, early in the French colonial period.
