Here at home, poverty is widespread, and many in our community struggle daily to put food on the table with very little left over to pay for other needs, such as healthcare. Chronic diseases like diabetes, hypertension, and coronary artery disease have continued to grow at alarming rates. Over the course of more than 100 years, we've responded dynamically to many of these challenges, developing programs and services to meet these needs. There's a term you may remember from your elementary biology class: symbiosis. It's a great word to describe how Jefferson Regional has become intertwined with the community.
