OPTIC is focused on ensuring that the "frontline" has access to technology they require to do their job effectively and safely in order to meet the information requirements of "Intelligence Based Policing". Interfacing with other applications will continue to be a main area of future development for OPTIC in order to ensure the transfer of data between justice partners is carried out in an automated and seamless manner... For over 25 years, we have been serving our members in the Ontario policing community, working towards improving and maintaining their systems and technology. OPTIC was created by a government initiative to ensure police services transitioned toward a digital records management system. As a member of OPTIC, police services benefit from a joint environment, economies of scale, shared enhancements and the ability to move ideas and projects forward collectively as a community of practice...
