PRIMARY PEDIATRICS - Key Persons

Dr. Amanda Dropic earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky and attended medical school at the University of Louisville. She completed her pediatric residency program at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Dr. Dropic joined Primary Pediatrics in 2008, and has an interest in Lactation and Newborn Care, Childhood Development and Parenting Skills, Behavioral and Academic Disorders in Children and Adolescents, Dysmenorrhea and Birth Control for Adolescents, and Vaccines with an emphasis on Evidence-Based Medicine. Dr. Dropic enjoys fostering children's minds in the fields of chess, math, and Destination Imagination, loves reading books, and spending time with her husband, three sons, and her daughter. She spends most of her spare times cheering from the sidelines of academic team matches, swim meets, chess tournaments, soccer and basketball games.

Dr. Michael Fiedler earned his undergraduate degree from John Carroll University and attended medical school at the University of Cincinnati. He completed his pediatric residency program at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and was a board certified Pediatric Pulmonologist. Dr. Fiedler joined Primary Pediatrics in 1997, and has an interest in Asthma and Respiratory Disorders, Sports-Related Wellness and Injuries, Behavioral Medicine in Children and Adolescents, Care of Children and Adolescents with Chronic Conditions, and Adolescent Care and Transition into Adulthood. Dr. Fiedler has been blessed with a wonderful wife and four sons, and enjoys coaching high school soccer, cooking and experimenting with new recipes, reading, playing the guitar and drums. He loves to spend time listening to live music and trying craft beers.

Dr. Sheila Harmeling earned her undergraduate degree from Thomas More College and attended medical school at the University of Kentucky. She completed her pediatric residency program at the University of Michigan. Dr. Harmeling joined Primary Pediatrics in 1995, and has an interest in Chronic Conditions, Nutrition and Exercise, Newborn Care, Childhood Development and Parenting Skills. When not working at Primary Pediatrics, Dr. Harmeling is busy with her family. She and her husband adopted their nephew in 2016, bringing their total children to five. She follows them to all their various activities including soccer, basketball, marching band, and cheerleading. She is also actively involved in her parish and enjoys boating at Lake Cumberland.

Kristie Thelen, APRN, earned her undergraduate degree in nursing at Xavier University and earned a Master of Science degree in nursing from the University of Cincinnati. Kristie joined Primary Pediatrics in 1996, and has an interest in Newborn Care and Development, Developmental Delays,Dyslexia and Learning Disabilities, and working with patients of all ages to learn good nutrition and weight management. Kristie is married with two daughters and has grown up in Northern KY. She is involved with her church and children's school and spends most of her spare time as a dance mom taxiing her two girls to dance class and competitions.

Mandy Race, APRN, earned her undergraduate degree in nursing from The College of Mount Saint Joseph and earned a master degree in nursing from Northern Kentucky University. Mandy joined Primary Pediatrics in 2013, and has an interest in Mental Health and ADHD, Birth Control and Nexplanon, Obesity and Weight Management,and Asthma Management with Pulmonary Function Testing. Mandy loves hanging out with her family and friends. She is actively involved in soccer with her sons. She enjoys spending time with her church family and serving the community through First Church.
