Randy graduated from The Citadel (The Military College of South Carolina) in 1976, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He began his 34 year law enforcement career in 1976 at the Charleston Police Department (CPD) in South Carolina. During his tenure at CPD, he was assigned as a Uniform Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Arrest Warrant Investigator and Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Officer. As a Corporal and Sergeant with CPD, he supervised patrol squads and criminal investigations.
In 1988, Randy accepted a Special Agent's position with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). During his DEA career, he directed and worked routine and complex narcotics and financial investigations, both domestic and international, resulting in numerous arrests, drug and asset seizures, and the dismantling of criminal organizations. He managed and operated a U.S. Attorney General Exempt Undercover Shelf Account Operation utilized to launder drug proceeds for the purpose of investigating financial crimes. He also was a certified DEA Field Training Agent (FTA), Tactical Instructor and Firearms Instructor. In 2010, Randy retired from DEA with 22 years of service.
Randy subsequently worked as an instructor and marketer for a privately owned tactical training company. Near the end of 2015, he became co-owner of that company and it expanded its services into the Private Investigation and Private Security fields. In June 2017, he started his new company Silver Bullet Solutions, LLC. Randy is also a certified NRA Handgun & Shotgun Instructor.
