Ainsley McCabe

Ainsley McCabe joined Jackson Boyd in January 2007 as a Claims Negotiator before becoming a Senior Claims Negotiator in 2008. She later went on to complete a professional qualification in 2012 to become a Specialist Paralegal in Reparation Law. Her main area of expertise is in personal injury and road traffic accidents (RTA) however she also has experience in dealing with employer's liability and public liability claims. She regularly acts for both the Pursuer and the Defender. As an experienced litigator, Ainsley provides support to junior staff. In particular, she is involved with supervising the firm's trainees throughout their seat in the personal injury department.

Alan Cameron

Alan Cameron joined Jackson Boyd as a junior solicitor in May 2009 and gained experience in a wide range of areas. He is now a Partner in the firm's Dispute Resolution team. He has appeared in many Sheriff courts throughout Scotland and has developed a niche for contentious property cases, criminal motoring offences and Commercial Litigation including Professional Negligence actions in the Court of Session. Alan's key strength is being able to take complex legal disputes and break them down into straightforward issues. This allows his clients to consider their position and make the best decision possible.

Alan Macdonald - CEO

Alan Macdonald joined Jackson Boyd in 2008 and was assumed as a Partner in 2012. He is presently the firm's Managing Partner and was appointed to this role in 2017. A member of MASS, he deals with high value and complex cases, together with fatal claims, arising from road traffic accidents and from accidents at work. He also has significant experience in dealing with credit hire cases and presents external seminars on this complex subject. Alan has appeared on behalf of clients in Sheriff Courts throughout Scotland. He also has significant experience in the Court of Session. He is ranked by Chambers and Partners for 2023. When not in the office Alan enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 young daughters, socialising with friends and following football..

Alan McCormack

Alan McCormack is a Senior Associate in the Employment Department. He joined Jackson Boyd as an Associate in 2019 and has over 35 years' experience in litigation and dispute resolution. He specialises in Employment and Discrimination Law, with a particular focus on contentious employment law. He has extensive experience of advising on all areas of employment and discrimination law and of successfully representing both employers and employees in Employment Tribunals throughout Scotland and England. His cases have involved unfair and wrongful dismissal, discrimination, whistleblowing, breach of contract, assertion of a statutory right and employment status. He also advises on non-contentious matters, including employment contracts and settlement agreements, and provides training to employers (both large and small) on HR, employment and discrimination matters. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his grandchildren, singing in choirs, amateur dramatics, playing golf (badly), and other forms of spoiling a good walk. Alan McDickom

"My work involves dealing with all aspects of RTA Claims with particular attention to personal injury." Alan McDickom has been working for Jackson Boyd since 1995. He assists the Business Development Director in the management of our teams of claims negotiators and paralegals as well our Customer Service Unit. He is keen on most sports and particularly enjoys golf and football. He is a qualified coach and presently assists coaching a boys' football team.

Alana Turnbull

Alana joined Jackson Boyd in July 2022 as a Solicitor in the Employment Team. Alana advises both employers and employees on a broad range of employment law issues including unfair dismissal, constructive unfair dismissal, redundancy, discrimination, whistleblowing, and contract claims. She also provides employers and employees with advice in relation to non-contentious issues including reviewing, advising and drafting contracts of employment, workplace policies, and settlement agreements, as well as negotiating favourable settlement terms.

Alistair McCulloch

Alistair arrived at Jackson Boyd in October 2000. He previously dealt with motor insurance claims for Norwich Union Direct / Aviva. Alistair has dealt with personal injury claims since joining the firm. He has progressed from Claims Negotiator to Senior Negotiator and then onto his current role as Assistant Team Manager. Alistair was also involved in setting up and managing our First Response Unit on a short term basis when this unit was introduced to the firm. Alistair's main interests are enjoying quality time with his family. He enjoys watching football and used to play amateur football up until his mid 30s when a serious injury brought his footballing days to an end. Any spare time he uses going to the gym for a workout or a swim.

Amanda Richardson

Amanda Richardson joined Jackson Boyd in 2000. She began by dealing with uninsured loss recovery and personal injury claims. Her responsibilities subsequently expanded to include recovery of insurers' outlays, credit hire and litigation. She is now Team Manager of the ULR/Credit Hire team. Her current role involves overseeing the day-to-day running of the team and ensuring that files are dealt with as quickly and accurately as possible. General daily tasks include dealing with referrals, supervising staff, allocating post and new claims, client audits and enquiries. She also reviews client complaints (at the initial stages) and has numerous administration duties such as staff appraisals and dealing with HR matters. She enjoys reading, spending time with family and eating out.

Dave Berry

Dave Berry joined Jackson Boyd in 2011. He has been a partner within the firm and head of the EL/PL and Clinical Negligence teams since November 2021. He deals with a diverse caseload within the Court of Session and also in the Sheriff Court, including employer's liability, public liability, clinical negligence, road traffic cases and accidents abroad. He is certified by the Law Society of Scotland as a Trauma-Informed Lawyer.

David McKinney

David McKinney is a Member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and the Motor Accident Solicitors Society (MASS). He joined Jackson Boyd in 1998. He is a Litigation Partner specialising in personal injury claims arising from road traffic accidents. He is also our Client Relations Partner responsible for dealing with any complaints and is Head of Legal Process responsible for the implementation of system improvements.

Debbie Milne is a Solicitor Advocate and has been a Partner at Jackson Boyd since January 2013. She heads the firm's EL/PL and Clinical Negligence teams. She has been providing clear and pragmatic advice to clients in relation to personal injury cases for over 20 years. She has a wealth of experience representing clients in actions in the Court of Session and Sheriff Courts. Her main areas of expertise include: personal injury, clinical negligence, employers' liability, public liability, motor claims, catastrophic and fatal injury, large and complex loss, asbestos, deafness, VWF and other disease claims

Denise McCann

Fraser Napier

Fraser arrived at the firm in March 2021 having completed my traineeship with a busy High Street firm. He has made regular appearances in Sheriff Courts across Scotland in both Criminal and Civil litigation. Gwenan joined Jackson Boyd in March 2021 as an Employment Paralegal, having worked in employment law since 2019. She completed her Diploma in Professional Legal Practice and commenced her traineeship in early June 2023. She has recently embarked on her seat in the Dispute Resolution team. Gwenan's favourite part of her job is building good relationships with our clients, to ensure that we can resolve matters with their interests at the forefront of all our decision-making. Gwenan appreciates the importance of engaging with clients throughout the lifespan of a case, to ensure they understand how their case is progressing and the reasons we are taking the steps that we do. Gwenan is particularly excited to gain experience in new areas of law. She wishes to apply the skills that she has developed in her early career as a Paralegal as she progresses through her traineeship. Gwenan is also an active member of the firm's CSR committee.
