The Materials and Manufacturing Academy (M2A) commenced in 2015 with the aim of creating the future leaders of Welsh industry through industry sponsored postgraduate research. The M2A builds on over 25 years of experience of delivering Engineering Doctorates and was one of the pioneering centres for the delivery of the Engineering Doctorate qualifications. The M2A has maximised the amount of funding using European Structural Funds to successfully leverage UKRI money with the incorporation of 2 CDTs in Functional Coatings into the operation... COATED M2A transforms students into a Research Engineers, with enhanced skillsets to solve industrial problems and advancing the academic boundaries of the discipline... Leading industrial research through funded postgraduate collaborations in the areas of advanced materials manufacturing.
