I regularly practiced Mat Pilates during my dance education and professional dancing career. After starting a family and raising four children, I began to lose touch with my own physical fitness and self-care. I was introduced to Reformer Pilates 12 years ago by chance when the class was included with my gym membership, and that's where my Pilates rebirth began. I was lucky enough to experience a classic contemporary approach to the work on the equipment and immediately fell in love with Pilates all over again.
Other than dance, nothing else has ever connected me to my body like Pilates. It makes me feel strong and centered both physically and mentally by strengthening my body and calming my mind. I decided to immerse myself into my Pilates practice to become as proficient as possible, and 6 years ago completed my Comprehensive Pilates Instructor Certification through Pilates Sports Center. Along with a variety of other certifications in TRX, Spin, and other strength and cardio formats, I have most recently taken my Pilates education to the next level by becoming a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher (formerly known as the PMA Certification) and a Master Pilates Instructor for Pilates Sports Center.
As a teacher, I love seeing people fall in love with something I am passionate about too. To have a gift I am able to bestow upon others is truly nothing short of extraordinary. Helping people young and old focus on themselves and take some precious time for what they need that day is a blessing. I know how much Pilates can help improve their lives - mind, body, and soul - and it doesn't take long for our clients to see that too. It isn't about me as a teacher, it is about passing on Pilates to those who need it most.
