UBC safety committees, lead by Safety Risk Services, represent local health and safety, joint health and safety, governance, and executive oversight at UBC. UBC Safety Committees UBC provides a safe workplace for all employees, students, and visitors. In order to enhance our safety culture, UBC's Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committees (JOHSCs) are accountable directly to their Vice President's portfolio. In certain areas, Local Safety Teams (LSTs) support the work of the JOHSC.
