Bret currently serves as President of the Yolo County Community Foundation Board of Directors and is Chair of the Investment Committee for the Sacramento Region Community Foundation. Throughout his 45-year career, Bret has contributed significantly to business success at numerous organizations of varied size and purpose, among them a Fortune 50 firm, a leading investments consulting firm, a major research university, nationally recognized nonprofits, an innovative municipality and an arts organization. As a Managing Director, Bret served as a member of the broader management team for 18 years at Cambridge Associates. He guided health care, higher education, and foundation clients as they implemented customized endowment strategies. Simultaneously, he also worked to integrate and strengthen the firm's "back-office" units (both in the U.S. and internationally) necessary to support the company's consulting practice. In this capacity, he managed 250 employees across five departments. Previously, Bret pioneered the growth of a second line of business for Sallie Mae, developing and marketing new public finance products that were well-received by higher education and healthcare clients. That product line ultimately generated 25 percent of the firm's annual revenue. For his efforts, he was recognized as Banker of the year in 1991. Upon graduation from business school, Bret served as an Associate in the Public Finance Department with the bulge-bracket firm, First Boston. After moving back to Davis in 2014, Bret served for two years as Executive Director of Tuleyome, a nonprofit conservation organization based in Woodland most noted for working to establish and protect the Berryessa Snow Mountain National Monument. For 23 years Bret served in various capacities on the Board of Trustees of the award-winning Studio Theatre, the third largest nonprofit theater in Washington, DC. In the mid-1970s, during the City of Davis' early innovative efforts in land use and energy conservation policies, Bret served seven years on the Planning Commission, ultimately stepping down as Chairman to start his MBA program. For over 30 years, Bret has served in many capacities across the UC Davis campus, including providing volunteer leadership for the Cal Aggie Alumni Association Board of Directors, UC Davis Foundation Board of Trustees, the Arboretum GATEways Advisory Council, the Humanities and Arts Advisory Council. He has served on the College of Letter and Science Dean's Advisory Council since 2006 acting as Chair from 2010-2013. In 2011, Bret was recognized for his volunteer service to UC Davis, the Cal Aggie Alumni Association and the UC Davis Foundation with the Jerry Fielder Memorial Award - the most prestigious award the alumni association awards each year.

Kate's practice focuses on foundational and complex estate and gift planning, tax planning, and post-death trust administration. As Chief Executive Officer at the Sacramento Region Community Foundation since 2022, Kerry Wood oversees all aspects of the Foundation's work to inspire charitable giving in the capital area through its philanthropic services and impact initiatives, including its well-known program, Big Day of Giving. Before joining the Foundation as its Chief Marketing & Donor Engagement Officer in 2018, Kerry was Director of Advancement for the Crocker Art Museum and Vice President of Resource Development and Communications for the Foundation for California Community Colleges. At the latter, she led the three-year, statewide Osher Initiative for California Community College Students fundraising campaign, which raised nearly $100 million, resulting in the largest endowment for community college student scholarships in the nation. Kerry also served with Mercy Foundation as Development and Marketing Director. For 25 years, Kerry has dedicated her career to the nonprofit sector for the benefit of the Sacramento region. She brings to the Foundation program development and management expertise she developed in previous positions at Article 3 Advisors, Amnesty International, and Human Rights Center at UC Berkeley Law, where she coordinated and managed the Human Rights Investigations Lab, the first university-based open-source investigations lab to discover and verify human rights violations and potential war crimes. Originally from Nevada City, California, Monica is a proud ‘double Bear,' having received a Bachelor's in Political Science, as well as a Master's of Public Health with a focus on community development and food equity from the University of California, Berkeley. When she is not helping foster philanthropy in the Sacramento region at the Foundation, she enjoys hiking, gardening, and paddleboarding. She can also knit a mean pair of cozy socks.

Naomi Wilson is the Foundation's Controller, responsible for accounting and financial reporting. Prior to joining the Foundation in 2023, Naomi served for seven years as Finance Director for the Sacramento Philharmonic & Opera, where she worked closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors in managing accounting, budget development, cash management strategies, and financial reporting. Naomi's professional experience also includes recruiting for Finance & Accounting roles with Robert Half International and performing accounting for agricultural and transportation companies in the Sacramento Delta. Additionally, Naomi has provided consulting services to Sacramento area firms in the areas of nonprofit and forensic accounting. Naomi is a member of the Fiscal & Administrative Officers Group (FAOG), an association for community foundation finance professionals, and Financial Executives International (FEI). In 2021, Naomi was honored as one of Sacramento Business Journal's "40 Under 40." Through the UC Davis Continuing & Professional Education Program, Naomi studied accounting and received an Accounting for CPA certificate. Naomi holds a Bachelor of Music Degree from California State University, Los Angeles where she studied vocal performance. Naomi continues to sing with the Sacramento Philharmonic & Opera chorus and the Trinity Cathedral choir in her spare time.
