Michael Stockstill

Michael Stockstill has worked in senior public affairs and government relations positions for both public and private employers for more than 25 years. Mike began his career as a journalist, working for newspapers and magazines in Los Angeles and Orange County. He later joined The Irvine Company, where he spent more than 13 years performing a variety of duties in public relations, community and government relations. He was a member of a senior management team responsible for development and implementation of major political, public relations and community relations activities for one of Southern California's most sophisticated and influential land developers. He directed the day-to-day management of advocates in Washington, D.C. and Sacramento, and served as the company's representative to political action committees and allied organizations in a variety of issues including transportation, rental housing, water and the environment. While at The Irvine Company, Mike also worked on a number of ballot measures at the local, county and state levels, including all three of Orange County's sales tax for transportation campaigns, where he was involved with campaign strategy and fundraising. Mike also directed government relations and community relations activities for the Transportation Corridor Agencies (TCA), which built the first public toll roads in modern California history; and for Southern California Edison, where he supervised a staff of eight as director of public affairs for the San Gabriel Valley area. While working at Edison, Mike served as chairman of the San Gabriel Valley Economic Partnership. He has also worked as director of public affairs for CalOptima, a public agency in Orange County that supervises publicly funded healthcare in a managed care setting.
