Caroline Banham

  • Staff Member
Caroline brings a broad experience in customer service and business to the team, always looking forward to the next challenge! After many evenings spent chatting about the dream of having our own wine business, Mark & I finally jumped at the challenge and set up Morrish & Banham in 2015. I have continued tasting and learning within the wine industry ever since. The world of wine is such an inspiring place to work, not to mention delicious! I have a keen interest in local Dorset wines, what we have on our doorstep is world class and not to be missed.

Jack Priestley

Job Titles:
  • Staff Member
Jack has recently completed his WSET Diploma in Wines and is a shaping up to be a brilliant wine guy, passion, people and provenance are key to his style. "I'm hugely passionate about tasting and discovery within the world of wine. I have previously worked in wine production, and I've completed vintages in the Northern and Southern hemisphere. I then moved into the wine trade where I joined M&B in 2020. I love to share my knowledge and experience with our customers and to make the world of wine that little bit more accessible and easier to understand. Wine is about people and places, so I like to search for wines that express this. Outside of work I love to cook middle eastern inspired food and I'm an avid traveler."

Mark Banham

Job Titles:
  • Staff Member
Mark is known in the wine trade for his excellent palate and his ability to assess and value wines. He is also known for his approachable, friendly style and his ability to help customers choose the right wine for the right occasion. "I have been in the wine trade for many years and I enjoy the industry now as much as ever and still enjoy the thrill of matching the right wine with the right person. Over the years, having tasted & explored thousands of diverse wines I would like to think that I have developed a pretty good palate and I thrive on finding the next best thing for our shelves! Life in the wine trade started in 1990 as a Junior Buyer for a highly respected wine merchant, Luckins Wine Store, in my hometown of Great Dunmow in Essex. During the next five years I studied at The Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) in London passing all the examinations including the Diploma by the age of 21. After a break to gain a degree in Geo Archaeology at Leicester University (and play rugby!), I returned to the wine trade to work for Tanners Wines, the great Shropshire wine merchant. In 2002, I joined Palmers Brewery and spent over a decade sourcing its wine before setting up Morrish & Banham wine merchants with Caroline in 2015. In 2020, we joined the Electric Pub Company and our adventure into pubs & restaurants began! My desert island wines are still Red Bordeaux and White Burgundy but I love anything that is good value, well made and has a story to tell."

"I love to travel and experience new things (especially involving wine!) I like working with a product that brings enjoyment and positivity that is so diverse. The culture of wine is inspiring but also relaxing and fun! My favourite things are dining alfresco, enjoying chilled wine in summer and snuggling up with a warming red to watch horse racing in the winter!"
