I am a General Teaching Assistant working in the Early Years and Key Stage 1 class at Wykeham School and I have seen first hand how a happy and positive school environment helps the pupils thrive. I am very privileged to become the staff governor for the federation. I hope I can be a voice to represent the federation staff at our two schools. Although I have only been working in a school setting for a couple of years, I hope my knowledge and experience of our schools will put me in good stead to work alongside fellow governors and our Excecutive Headteacher.

I look forward to having an insight and influence into the beginnings of a child's learning in my local community and gain more understanding of the inner workings of the education system. I work in the Higher Education sector and am passionate about encouraging children to reach their potential and raise their aspirations. Educating children about something they never thought possible is so rewarding. I hope that my knowledge and experience in widening participation and outreach will enhance my governor's role. I live in Ruston, I am the wife of a very busy farmer and have two amazing step children. I can usually be seen walking my little dog around the local area.

Wendy Banner

Job Titles:

I moved to North Yorkshire in 2016. Christian values have been at the core of my whole life. When I started school I went to a Church School kindergarten, continuing to a Church of England Primary and an upper school which held Christian assembly every day. I was confirmed into the Church of England when I was sixteen and I have worked in church Sunday Schools for a long time. I studied commercial subjects at school. I've never moved much with jobs but did finish my working life as Company Secretary. So accounts, organising people and events have been a major part of my life. I'm a member of Wykeham church council and feel strongly that as a church we should support our local schools as much as we possibly can, looking for opportunities for school to use the church building whever we can and welcoming pupils into church on a regular basis. I'm pleased to lead a Collective Worship at Wykeham CE Primary school each week.
