Karen Holmes who works as assistant to our principal is currently studying for her qualification in Road Haulage CPC. Karen brings with her a vast experience in First Aid, Health & Safety, Manual Handling and Risk Assessment procedures having worked in the NHS for many years.
Peter was a police officer in the Derbyshire Police force, where he worked on the Road Traffic Division working closely with the forerunner of the vehicle inspectorate which in turn became VOSA, now DVSA.
Peter studied Law at College whilst a serving Police Officer and dealt with a number of serious Road Accidents including several fatal Accidents, nowadays theses are no longer reffered to as RTA's as the term Accident infers that no one is to blame so that most authorities now use the term Road Traffic Collision or Road Traffic Incident so when you see the Motorways signs saying incident ahead road accident (as we previously knew it).
Having left the Police, Peter spent a number of years working with a number of different Road Transport companies including; DHL, Elan, CBX, Carillion, DEC, City Link, TDS, TNT and TNT Sameday undertaking a number of different roles from Driver, Fork lift Driver, Office Manager, Router, Transport Manager, Site Manager and with TNT Sameday Senior Sales Centre Manger.
Peter has further been involved in driving all over mainland Europe completing JIT deliveries to Spain, German, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands to name a few as well as organising Air Charters to deliver JIT parts to Spain.
