Maritza Estevez-Pazos opened her firm the Estevez-Pazos Law Firm, P.A. in 2015 and has been practicing exclusively in the area of Marital and Family Law since 2004. Prior to opening her own law firm, Ms. Estevez-Pazos was a partner at a prominent Marital and Family Law firm. She proudly serves families throughout Miami-Dade County in divorce proceedings and paternity/parentage cases with results oriented goals and her clients' best interests in mind. She is also a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator and a member of the Collaborative Family Law Institute. She is no stranger to South Florida where she has resided the majority of her life. In fact, Ms. Estevez-Pazos has earned a valuable education and numerous accreditations from the state she calls home. Ms. Estevez-Pazos first earned her Bachelors of Arts in Political Science from Florida International University in 1999, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She then obtained her Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Miami School of Law in May 2003, where she graduated Cum Laude. During her law school career, Ms. Estevez-Pazos served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Federal Magistrate Stephen T. Brown (Southern District of Florida). She also interned at the U.S. State Attorney's Office, Major Crimes Division in Miami, and, served on the Editorial Board of the University of Miami Psychology Public Policy Law Review. It was in March of 2004 that Ms. Estevez-Pazos went on to join Luis M. Padron & Associates, P.A, a prominent law firm specializing in Family and Marital law, and commenced her career as a family law attorney, becoming partner in 2011. Ms. Estevez-Pazos is a proud member of the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar and a Board Advisor for KidSide, Inc. She is also a past Member of The Florida Bar Grievance Committee, The Florida Family Law American Inns of Court in Miami, Past President and Past Board Member of KidSide, Inc. and Florida International University President's Council. Ms. Estevez-Pazos has also been a Guest Instructor at the University of Miami School of Law on financial and time-sharing issues in family law. Ms. Estevez-Pazos has been recognized as one of Florida's Outstanding Young Lawyers for her hard work and dedication to the legal profession, and was selected as a Florida Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2012 and 2013. Ms. Estevez-Pazos has been selected by her peers to the distinguished group of Florida Super Lawyers every single year since 2014. She is also AV Preeminent Rated by Martindale-Hubbell.
