Dr KIM VON ARX

Kim has over 20 years of experience leading TMT fortune 1,000s and start-ups to legal and privacy compliance as a general counsel, chief privacy officer and senior advisor. He has held leading roles in global privacy policy developments and committees at international NGOs such as the ITU, UN, ICANN and CENTR. In addition, Kim has held general counsel and chief privacy and/or data protection officer positions at various global and medium sized companies. Kim is a specialist in building and leading first-class, high-performing and multl-disciplinary teams. He future-proofs teams, ensuring that they operate long-term in a cost-effective and streamlined fashion. An inspirational leader, he hits the ground running, quickly motivating teams. His greatest achievement in managing and motivating teams is that he has never lost anyone via voluntary resignation and only had to let go 3 people in his entire career so far. Kim is set apart by the breadth and depth of his expertise across sectors including retail, TMT, Pharma, e-commerce, finance and public sector in areas such as data protection, intellectual property, technology, mergers and acquisitions, P3 and general corporate/commercial. He has worked in legal and strategic leadership roles, on a permanent or interim basis, for mor than 45 organisations. Through his advisory work at Caravel Law across Canada, Axiom Law and LOD in the UK. He played a key role in the design, establishment and oversight of a multiplicity of P3 and corporate commercial projects and translations for various household name global enterprises. He was also responsible for the creation, implementation, and management of the Canadian domain name/Internet regulatory framework including an extensive re-write of the Canadian Internet's approach to privacy and WHOIS. Kim is a trusted advisor at both board and executive level. Kim enables portfolio growth through comprehensive scenario analysis, allowing informed management decision-making. The implementation of meticulous processes with secure risk management in a complex legislative environment is something at which he excels.

Dr Stephanie Perrin

Dr Stephanie Perrin is an internationally-recognized expert in privacy, data protection, and the social impact of technology. She is currently an advisor to Palantir on privacy and civil liberties and has served in the Canadian federal government for over 30 years. As a worldwide consultant, Dr Perrin has given countless speeches and presentations on data protection, privacy risk and impact assessment, privacy enhancing technologies, cryptography policy, risk management, values and ethics, and civil liberties. She worked in international Relations for many years, representing Canada at the OECD on the committee dealing with privacy and security issues. She also has participated in the Computers Freedom and Privacy Conference since 1992, chairing the CFP Conference in 2007 in Montreal. Dr Perrin holds a doctorate from the University of Toronto (2018). She wrote her dissertation on the struggle for privacy at ICANN and its failures to protect personal information in the Domain Name System. In 2000, Dr Perrin took a break from her government work to become Chief Privacy Officer for Zero Knowledge, a Montreal-based anonymity software company. In 2003, she launched Digital Discretion, producing reports on matters ranging from identity theft to RFID, conducting risk assessments and training sessions, and developing privacy impact assessments and audits. She was awarded the Electronic Frontiers Foundation Pioneer Award in 2001, the British Columbia Freedom of Information and Privacy Association's Privacy Advocate Award in 2001, and the prestigious EPIC Champions of Privacy Award in 2018. She brings enormous experience and expertise to OSConcept Ltd.
