When I was around 14 years old, my father, Larry Cardon, of blessed memory, took me to court, so I could watch him in action..... The day before, he had had a case all worked out, but at the last minute, his client said something rude, and the judge decided to give him a year in jail. My dad lost sleep that night because it bothered him so much. The day I went to court, I got to meet the judge and ended up talking to him about my dad being so distraught. I asked him to reconsider his decision. Well, it must have been beginner's luck, but I convinced the judge to change his mind! My dad always credited me for speaking up and making that happen... Originally from Portsmouth, VA, I mostly grew up in Virginia Beach. I graduated high school from Norfolk Academy, before heading to William & Mary.
