SUMMIT SHARPENING

Through my experience sharpening my own knives and tools since I was a young boy, I developed knowledge and techniques that I continue to use when sharpening by hand. I prefer hand sharpening edged tools using a variety of sharpening media to carefully restore and refine edged tools to their optimum cutting performance, rather than rely on mechanical grinders and jigs to do the work... Hand sharpening is much slower than mechanical sharpening, but I have found it gives me more control over blade edge geometry while sharpening and in my opinion quality hand sharpening can create a finer, sharper and more durable edge than most other sharpening techniques... I continue to learn and improve my sharpening skills to ensure I bring out the best performance in an edge. I've always preferred the feel and finish hand sharpening using stones produces and rarely use jigs or sharpening systems in my work.
