Adam joined TechWorks in January 2024. Prior to this, he spent 14 years working at Brewer Science, a global supplier of Anti-reflective Coatings (ARC®) for photolithography processing and Advanced Packaging materials for wafer bonding. During his time there, he had various roles, but his primary role was as a Key Account Manager, supporting and growing our business at major IDM's.
Charles Sturman joins TechWorks following leadership roles at Neul, u-blox, Arm, Motorola, TTP Com and the deep tech start-up Cognovo. With expertise gained in start-ups, SMEs and global enterprises, Sturman is also Chair of the Alliance of IOT Innovation, and an advisor to Silicon Catalyst, Cambridge Deeptech Labs and Cambridge Wireless.

Chris joined TechWorks in September of 2022. An 8-year tenure with BT gave Chris a good technical grounding.
He also brings key experience in marketing and engagement from roles with the ScotRail communications team, a delivery app, a restaurant chain and a bicycle retailer.
IoTSF Chapters are a major part of his remit as the IoTSF looks to further its global presence, increase member numbers and attract even more thought leadership and progressive ideas. He's also heavily involved with the IoTSF's working groups, engagement with NMI and AESIN members as well as presenting webinars for the TechWorks communities.

Hermann is a Fellow of the Royal Society, the Institute of Physics, the Royal Society of Chemistry and of the Royal Academy of Engineering, as well as an Honorary Fellow of King's College, Cambridge. In 2001 he was awarded an Honorary CBE for ‘innovative service to the UK enterprise sector'. In 2004 he was made a member of the Government's Council for Science and Technology and in 2013 he was made a Distinguished Fellow of BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT.

As the Project Manager for AESIN, Edlyn is primarily responsible for overseeing the successful execution of projects such as Sim4CAMSens, TIARA, and ResAuto from inception to completion. This involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, external partners, and stakeholders to ensure that project goals, deliverables, timelines, and budgets are met effectively and efficiently. Additionally, Edlyn periodically reviews, supports, and contributes to other projects to ensure the overall success of Techworks.

Gareth is the Network Manager for TechWorks AI, which fosters collaboration across the TechWorks communities to share knowledge and expertise in applying AI to their specific needs whilst addressing the shared challenges and opportunities that AI brings.
Prior to working at TechWorks, Gareth was Chief Technical Officer at Miura Systems, a leading UK based payment technology company and has over thirty years of experience of developing highly secure electronic transaction and cyber security solutions. Gareth was responsible for the development of a range of assistive technology devices accredited by the RNIB and other disability organisations, which enable inclusive use of devices such as self-checkout and kiosk ordering systems.
Gareth is a Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (MIET) and holds a B.Sc. (Eng) in Electronics and Computer Systems from King's College, University of London. He is the inventor of 4 granted patents covering voice and data encryption, data integrity verification, tamper responsive systems and touchscreen overlays.
Grant has been with TechWorks since 2009, when it was called NMI. Before that he has worked in facilities management, 15 years with the NHS, the government electricity shares sell-off, the Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages and Management Training.
His role in Techworks covers all aspects of digital work - building and maintaining websites, IT infrastructure, most of the design/artwork you see. and has also been known to make the coffee occasionally.
Outside of work, he likes to keep (reasonably) fit and has a keen interest in music and films

A driven Engineering Leader who's experience in the automotive industry spans over 30 years. Gunny is currently the Director of AESIN, the Automotive Electronics Systems Innovation Network, a member-based trade association contributing to the next generation of automotive technologies.
In previous roles, he has successfully led and delivered collaborative research and development projects, creating impact to the UK automotive electronics and software systems domain. Leveraging knowledge and the resources within the network to help UK based companies to facilitate faster, more effective ways to develop, verify and validate systems from bench to vehicle to the new mobility world. Gunny aims to champion the UK's Automotive Electronics community providing a voice for AESIN members to key decision makers and influencers in the UK.

James Willison is Project and Engagement Manager for the IoT Security Foundation. He oversees a UKRI funded project, Secure Networking by Design which is part of the Digital Security by Design Challenge. TechWorks and the IoTSF have played a vital part in the project working with the University of Oxford and NQuiringMinds to help validate and disseminate a secure onboarding and real time network monitoring solution. James supports the IoTSF ManySecured WG which has played a pivotal role in the project's success. James enjoys working as a part of the TechWorks team, writing blogs, helping plan IoTSF events, including the Annual conference, and has a strong collaborative focus, to ensure our members are kept informed and involved. He is also co chair of the IoTSF SBE working group which is at the forefront of IoT Cybersecurity Thought leadership in the Smart Built Environment with two notable publications and some new forthcoming guidance on procurement. James holds an M.A. in Security Management from Loughborough University, where he was also an Associate Senior Lecturer. He has thirty years experience in physical and cybersecurity risk management and is a regular speaker at International Security Events. In his spare time, he enjoys walking and music.
Joanne joined Techworks in January 2007 as Office Finance Manager. With 12 years' experience, it placed Joanne in a good position to be successful in the role.
Techworks was a small company at the time Joanne joined the team and took on additional roles of Events Manager, Membership Admin and HR.
John brings a wealth of leadership, business and industry experience to the role having spent over 35 years in Semiconductor Manufacturing. He is former Senior Vice President of GLOBALFOUNDRIES, Inc. and former Senior Vice President of Manufacturing Operations at Advanced Micro Device. John has also held senior positions at Agere Systems, Chartered Semiconductor and Motorola Semiconductor.

John Moor is the COO of TechWorks, Managing Director of the IoT Security Foundation and Director of TechWorks-AI. John joined the company in 2004 and served as the Vice-President of Semiconductor Design (NMI - the National Microelectronics Institute) - formulating strategy and leading the implementation of key innovation initiatives including creating a portfolio of technical engineering networks, establishing the UK Electronics Skills Foundation, running the Future World Symposium and participating in overseas trade missions. Prior to NMI, John was a founder of Bristol-based fabless semiconductor start-up ClearSpeed Technology (formerly PixelFusion Ltd). During this time he led engineering operations at vice-president level and was responsible for technology acquisitions, establishing international supply chain operations and acquiring capability in the UK, USA and Taiwan. John holds an MA (Distinction) in Strategic Marketing Management from Kingston University London and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Leicester. John's early career as an embedded systems engineer centred on leading-edge microprocessor-based systems (substantially parallel systems) and used in data communications, high performance computing, graphics and virtual reality applications.

Lauren has been at TechWorks for 2 years working as the finance and office administrator whilst taking on additional ad-hoc roles within the company.
Outside of work Lauren spends time playing football and hot wheels with her two young boys.
When she does get the time to relax you will find her watching TikToks and listens to country music.
Luke Ibbetson has been with Vodafone since 1996 and currently heads the Vodafone Group Strategy and R&D organisation, responsible for all aspects of network research and strategy including Vodafone's participation in international standards & industry alliances, definition of the architectural blueprint for future networks, trials of emerging / disruptive technologies and concepts and long term spectrum planning. Luke is leading Vodafone's 5G programme, Chairs the NGMN (Next Generation Mobile Networks alliance) 5G Requirements and Architecture work, and is Vice Chair of the NGMN 5G "Board Committee" charged with overseeing the entire 5G programme. Luke is also a proud pioneer of Narrow Band IoT technology for Low Power Wide Area networks, and is Chairman of the GSMA's NB-IoT Forum.

Mike is a founder of Vitruvian Partners. As a Managing Partner, he is responsible for managing the firm with particular focus on the Investment Team and Investor Relations. He is co-Chair of the Investment Committee. His 20 year track record includes numerous successful leveraged buyout and growth capital transactions covering all aspects of Technology and Technology-influenced industries in Europe and the US. His focus includes internet-related investments, application software, systems and underlying component technologies. Mike has sat on more than 20 Boards including a number of listed businesses.

Parm joined TechWorks in September of 2022. Prior to joining, Parms history in marketing goes way back to when he attended Nottingham Trent University studying Business Strategic Management in 2008. He shortly went on a qualified internship which helped break him through into the world of Marketing which lead him to work in various organisations gaining high level of experience as he progressed the career ladder.
Most noticeable experience is from his role in EMEA Marketing, liaising with different organisations on a global scale and ensuring marketing is delivered to the best quality.
Building the marketing presence and brand awareness for all communities across TechWorks is the biggest challenge Parm faces. He currently works across all social platforms to ensure key messages, events and news is up to date and everyone is aware of the great works the communities are doing. Parm demonstrates a lot of his creative flair in filming, editing, and design.
Away from work, Parm enjoys travelling, gaming and is a big football fan playing for his local town and supporter of Manchester United (not so local)
Since joining Arm as one of its first employees, Simon has driven technical and business innovations to help transform the company into the leading architect of the most pervasive compute technology the world has ever seen. Simon led the development of early ground-breaking Arm processors - the Arm7 and Arm9 - powering the world's first digital mobile phones. He played a key role in developing industry standards, and his engineering work led to him being granted several embedded-systems patents. He became Vice President of Engineering in 2001, and before being named as Arm CEO in July 2013, he held several other strategy positions including Global Head of Sales. He was personally responsible for expanding the company's U.S. business and strengthening its leadership and relationships in California's Silicon Valley, where he still lives with his family. Simon helped steer the company through the 2016 acquisition by SoftBank, and, in June 2017, was elected to serve on the SoftBank board. He also sits on the boards of the Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA), the Electronic Design Automation Consortium (EDAC), Techworks and is a non-executive director at Dolby Laboratories, Inc. Simon earned his BEng in electronic engineering from the University of Sussex and an MSc in computer science from the University of Manchester.
Sir Hossein Yassaie is a recognised figure on the world technology stage & an entrepreneur with a deep belief in disruptive technologies & business strategies. He was CEO of Imagination Technologies Group Plc until Q1 2016, where he created a global tech business powering billions of devices. He was also behind the iconic brand Pure. His work has notably impacted several markets including mobile, consumer, automotive and enterprise.
In 2013 Hossein was Knighted by the Queen, in recognition of his services to technology & innovation. He now is chair/director/investor/advisor in several companies & is passionate about helping start-ups and scale-ups to achieve global success & scale. His tech portfolio now includes

Stan Boland is a co-founder and CEO of Five AI, a new venture-backed start-up developing driverless car software.
He was co-founder and CEO of two of the UK's most successful venture-backed communications silicon and software companies, Element 14 Inc. and Icera Inc., one bought by Broadcom and the other by NVIDIA, for an aggregate value of over $1 billion. Icera raised $245M in venture funding and grew to 320 staff before it was bought in 2011 and Element 14's team and technology now delivers over 80% of the world's broadband communications chips and software.
Before that Stan was CEO at computer pioneer Acorn and a Board member at its associate ARM. His early career includes spells at the aerospace firm Rolls-Royce and the computer company ICL (now Fujitsu Services).
He is a graduate in Physics from the University of Cambridge, a Board member of the UK trade association TechWorks and a European council member of the Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA).
