Mr O'Brien graduated from Medicine at U.C.C. in 1999 and pursued training in General & Vascular surgery. He was awarded an M.D. in 2005 by U.C.C. for surgical research. His research won three national and three international prizes, including the prestigious RCSI President's Medal for surgical research in 2006.
