Christa is a highly qualified and experienced lawyer, investigator, mediator and coach with leadership experience. Formerly Assistant Crown Solicitor, Employment Law in the NSW Government and part time Senior Member with the Civil and Administrative Tribunal, she brings a wealth of knowledge and practice in conciliation, case management and procedural fairness. She specialises in complex investigations including serious misconduct, bullying, sexual harassment, and local government matters.
Christa is known for her strong sense of fairness combined with her meticulous and measured approach, and her ability to assess potential risks, liabilities and legal consequences for clients in the early stages of a matter. Her knowledge of organisational governance, employment law and work health and safety law is invaluable to WEIR and its clients. She ensures an organisation's policies are legally sound and aligned with best practice.
Christa lives her passion for personal and professional development, and promotes the transformative power of knowledge, collaboration and continuous improvement. Her strong interest in what makes organisations and individuals tick led her to complete a Masters of Coaching Psychology after 20 years as a lawyer. She has coached individuals on leadership, career progression, interpersonal skills and workplace challenges.
Christa is an accredited mediator, has conducted workplace culture reviews and is interested in the relationship between organisational culture, wellbeing and productivity in the workplace. She has experience working with a broad range of participants including senior executives, vulnerable people, people with difficult behaviours, and people with a non-English speaking background.
Christa has presented seminars to lawyers and others on subjects including leadership, difficult conversations and resilience at work. She has run workshops for executive teams and boards on best practice decision making, sexual harassment and work health and safety. An accomplished writer, Christa has produced chapters in employment law publications, an investigations manual for a state correctional service and numerous articles on topics such as wellbeing at work, handling challenging workplace situations, bullying and work health and safety.
