TE HAUORA

The guiding philosophy for Te Hauora o Ngāti Hauā is based upon this tongi of Kiingi Tāwhiao, the second Māori King. It reflects his vision for the healthy establishment of his kingdom in which he relates the building of a house, to the building of a strong and healthy people... The pillars and roof are made of different types of rākau; the māhoe, patatē and hīnau, in reference to the different types of people within his kingdom both common and noble who; when united together, will grow and prosper... Te Hauora o Ngāti Hauā was established as a Charitable Trust in December 1999 and commenced operations in January 2000.
