Colin Howles

Colin Howles leads with a proven track record of success in strategic decision-making and implementation of improved treatment modalities during his 25 year career with the global market leader in gonadotrophin pharmaceuticals (Merck Serono). Colin was a key team member who over a 15 year period, pioneered the development and market introduction of purer human derived gonadotrophins including the recombinant trilogy of human FSH,LH and CG, as well as the first commercially available GnRH antagonist. During his tenure with Merck Serono, Colin has developed an unsurpassed and intimate knowledge of all aspects of Fertility treatment across geographic regions, in particular, Europe, Asia, Australia and Japan and is well placed to assist in building alliances across the developed to emerging markets. Colin has continued, during his career in the pharmaceutical industry, to be an active and credible member of the scientific community. He has to date, contributed to over 60 peer reviewed papers (h index 30), lectured widely across the Continents and pioneered the introduction of a diverse set of highly acclaimed medical education programs, on topics ranging from Quality Management Seminars to Consensus building workshops. In view of his long experience in the therapeutic area, Colin is globally recognised and respected by stakeholders and key opinion leaders. Additionally he has made important contributions to the field of reproductive medicine, notably being the co - editor of the Assisted Reproductive Technologies textbook which is used by clinical units and also research institutions around the world and is viewed as being the reference text. Colin was educated in the UK and received his BA degree from the University of York and his PhD in reproductive endocrinology from the University of Nottingham. He is an excellent communicator whose key skill is seeing the ‘big picture' as well as having the ability to make complex concepts easily understandable.
