Chris Hinds

Chris Hinds, M.R.C., LPC, CRC works with the psychological side of rehabilitation. Chris attended UT Southwestern Medical Center where he received his Masters in Rehabilitation Counseling. Chris has worked with Dr. Houtz for several years, granting him a proficiency and understanding of Houtz's approach to cognitive remediation and rehabilitation. This familiarity with the program allows Chris to tailor treatment plans specific to each patient, ensuring that each patient receives the absolute most from the program. Chris Hinds also uses his skills as a licensed professional counselor to treat a wide variety of mental health issues, making him an even greater asset to Magnolia Strong. Chris has been a valuable member of the Magnolia Strong team since its inception. He is hands on with all of the Brain Injury Program patients, helping to guide them through their cognitive rehabilitation. His background in counseling gives him the necessary tools to teach the patients how to better cope with common feelings of anxiety and depression following a traumatic injury. Chris understands the balance between empathizing and challenging the patients.

Dr. Gordon McWatt

Dr. Gordon McWatt, D.O., our Medical Director, has an extensive background in dealing with injury. His insight and exhaustive efforts specific to injury, as a provider and an independent evaluator, enabled Magnolia Strong Rehab the credibility we were seeking. We ended our search for someone to head up our oversight and quality control. He is an extremely well respected physician in the Dallas- Fort Worth medical community, with an impeccable record. Dr. McWatt is a board certified physician from the University Of North Texas Health Science Center Of Osteopathic Medicine. Much of his training, as well as his Continuing Medical Education, is fostered around his responsibility in the performance of evaluation and management for injured workers in the state of Texas. His competency and fairness has been recognized consistently from his peers in the Fort Worth area. Gordon remains a member of the American Osteopathic Association, American Medical Association, and the Texas Medical Association. Dr. McWatt meets regularly on a weekly basis to review, recommend, and implement ideas for improvement at Magnolia Strong Rehab. We are pleased to have such leadership at the top as Dr. Gordon McWatt, since he is an integral part of our integrated strategic planning.
