RĀWHITI SCHOOL

Rāwhiti School is a year 1-8 full primary school. It was built on the site of the former North New Brighton School as part of the Christchurch Schools Rebuild programme. It opened at the beginning of 2016. Children have a wealth of outdoor learning facilities at their spacious new school. As well as new playgrounds and shade sails, there is an artificial playing turf, a sandpit, an amphitheatre and a scooter track. The two heated swimming pools are popular throughout the summer and children can bring their own bike or use a school bike to ride on the 440m asphalt track or challenge themselves on the skills track or pump track. The orchard, garden and tunnel house are developing into a great outdoor learning space. Basketball and netball courts and a large playing field provide great outdoor play spaces.
