Cook County Health Foundation is committed to expanding and improving health care for those with the fewest resources through support of our public health system, Cook County Health. Through education, fundraising and advocacy, the Foundation works to decrease barriers to health care and increase health equity in metropolitan Chicago... Since the mid-1800's, Cook County Health has been a critical training ground for future physicians. The Hospital started the first internship in the country in 1866 and now has 22 sought after residencies and fellowships. In addition, local medical schools rely on CCH to provide training rotations at Stroger Hospital for their students... Each year, CCH provides more than 1 million doctor visits for on-going and specialty care, completes more than 15,000 surgical procedures, brings 2,000+ babies into the world, provides critical emergency and trauma care to more than 100,000 people and helps thousands of patients improve their health and well-being.
