Brodi Lockhart

Brodi Lockhart was born and raised in Beaverlodge, AB, where he developed a lifelong passion for physical activity and sport. Brodi attended the University of Calgary, receiving a Bachelor of Kinesiology, with Distinction. He then completed his Master of Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta. Brodi has a professional interest in manual therapy, and has a goal of receiving certifications in acupuncture and Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS). Brodi was driven to pursue a career in physical therapy following his extensive sporting background in hockey, volleyball and golf. He is excited to be back in Grande Prairie where he can help people achieve their functional goals and maintain a healthy, active lifestyle and is proud to be working in his hometown at the Kinesis Physical Therapy - Beaverlodge Office.

Caitlin Baker

Caitlin graduated with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta. She has a passion for sports rehabilitation and is currently working as the team therapist for the Canadian National Paralympic Volleyball Team. She has also worked with the Grande Prairie Regional College Wolves athletic teams. Caitlin's goals to advance her practice include completing courses in acupuncture and Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS) and to pursue advanced training and certification in manual therapy. Through leading an active lifestyle from a young age, she developed an interest in pursuing physiotherapy as a career in order to help people to get back to the activities they love. She enjoys staying active through basketball, volleyball, yoga, and hiking.

Dave Hurta

Dave graduated from the University of Alberta‘s Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 2001. Since graduation, he has built an extremely busy private practice in Grande Prairie, AB and he is currently the owner of Kinesis Physical Therapy Corp. Dave has a special interest in the management of sports injuries, temporomandibular joint dysfunction and complex spinal conditions utilizing a combination of manual therapy techniques, targeted rehabilitative exercise and dry needling. Having completed extensive post-graduate education in the area of orthopaedics and having achieved internationally recognized qualifications in hands-on manual and manipulative therapy, he was awarded fellowship standing with the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy in 2011 (FCAMPT). Along with working in private practice, Dave has worked as a consultant for the Grande Prairie Storm hockey team and the Grande Prairie Drillers football team. He has volunteered his medical expertise with Team Alberta at numerous Arctic and Canada Winter Games, was Medical Services Coordinator for the 2010 Arctic Winter Games held in Grande Prairie and has served on the advisory board for the Alberta Sport Development Centre Northwest and the Grouard-McLennan Covenant Health Community Board. Dave has also worked as a sessional instructor at the Grande Prairie Regional College in the Department of Physical Education and Kinesiology (PEAK) and currently sits on the PEAK Department advisory board. Dave enjoys balancing the responsibilities of being a husband, father and physical therapist.

Gale Antaya

A graduate of the University of Saskatchewan, Gale completed her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 1989. She completed her Craniosacral Techniques Certification Exam through The Upledger Institute in 2014. Gale has spent the past 30 years focusing on the assessment and treatment of acute and chronic orthopedic conditions. Her interest lies in a holistic, hands-on approach incorporating conventional mobilization and manipulation techniques, Craniosacral Therapy, Visceral Manipulation, myofascial release and pain management. Her passion lies in assisting her clients in achieving the best rehabilitation outcomes possible. Gale acts as a consulting physiotherapist with Kinesis Physical Therapy and also operates a Multiple-Hands Craniosacral Therapy practice. She is a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and the International Association of Healthcare Providers. She is the author of "The Princess and the Pea: A Holistic Approach to Orthopaedic Manual Therapy".

Katie MacFarlane

Originally from Nova Scotia, Katie graduated from Dalhousie University with degrees in Kinesiology and Physiotherapy. Since graduation, she has worked in a variety of treatment settings throughout the East Coast and Alberta. After a few years of work in Calgary, she is excited to be in Grande Prairie where she works as a pediatric consultant at Crystal Park School and part time therapist at Kinesis Physical Therapy.

Kayla Richer

Kayla graduated with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta. Prior to her Masters, she completed a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences and Psychology, with Distinction. During her time at the University of Alberta, she participated as a research student at Alberta Hospital North. Here, she served as the lead author for a published journal article, making research and evidence-based practice a strong suit of Kayla's. Her post-graduate certifications include Pelvic Health, IMS Dry Needling, and Manual Therapy courses. She manages Kinesis Physical Therapy's Pelvic Health Rehabilitation program, and through her advanced training, she is authorized to perform internal examinations. She has a special interest in pre/post-natal care, including the treatment of incontinence, diastasis recti, and pelvic pain. Kayla is presently advancing her practice by taking further postgraduate courses in men's pelvic health, caesarean-section recovery, and athletic incontinence. Growing up as a gymnast and coach, Kayla discovered her love of helping others achieve their athletic goals. Today, she continues to stay active with cycling, HIIT classes, and weight training. Kayla's passion for physiotherapy is exemplified by her love of hosting students for job-shadowing opportunities. She's also been approached by CAREERS: The Next Generation to speak as the physiotherapy representative for province-wide student presentations. Kayla has thoroughly enjoyed her time volunteering with various organizations and age groups including PARDS, the QEII Hospital, You Can Ride 2 Adaptive Bicycles, Seniors Association of Greater Edmonton, Alberta Hospital Edmonton North, and the GP Public Library. In her spare time, Kayla loves playing with her nieces, baking, and kayaking. Having grown up in rural Grande Prairie, Kayla is elated to be working in her home town to provide services as a Physical Therapist.

Sarah Hudson

Sarah was raised in Grande Prairie and is pleased to return to the area to contribute to the community. She graduated from the University of Alberta, completing a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with Distinction, followed by a Master of Science in Physical Therapy. Throughout her education, Sarah was active in the adaptive and rehabilitation communities, by volunteering at the Steadward Center and in the Glenn Sather's Return to Activity Program for acute knee injuries. She expanded her knowledge in strength and conditioning and sports injury management while acting as the Student Trainer for University of Alberta's Panda's Volleyball Team, under the supervision of the Panda's Strength and Conditioning Coach. Sarah's post-graduate education includes dry needling, manual therapy, and chronic pain management. She is currently furthering her education in Vestibular Rehabilitation. Sarah's interest in physiotherapy began after benefiting from treatment as a dancer. She has a special interest in helping artistic athletes prevent and manage injuries and is passionate about helping all people move and feel better, so they can remain active and healthy. In her free time, Sarah enjoys hiking, downhill skiing, weight lifting, and training her Pyrenees puppy

Steven Novakowski

Steven was raised in Grande Prairie, and returned to the city in 2015 upon completing his education. He graduated from the University of Calgary in 2013, obtaining a Bachelors of Kinesiology, with Distinction. In 2015, he completed his Master of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta. Steven has a professional interest in concussion management, vestibular rehabilitation, and manual therapy. He is an R2P and SHIFT Certified Concussion Management Provider, and is looking forward to further professional development opportunities within his areas of interest. Steven currently manages the Concussion Rehabilitation Program at Kinesis Physical Therapy and has presented extensively on Concussion Rehabilitation throughout Northwestern Alberta. He also has a passion for sport and adapted physical activity; he previously spent two years as a coach, trainer, and manager with the Calgary Sledge Hockey Association, has worked as a rehabilitation consultant for the Grande Prairie Storm Junior hockey team, the Grande Prairie Drillers football team and is currently the trainer for the Grande Prairie Athletics Senior Hockey Team. Steven is most excited to be in the Peace Country with his wife and three children, "because it's home." Whether he is working in sport, lifestyle, or community rehabilitation, Steven is ultimately committed to helping patients reach their goals and get back to doing the things they love.
