The Lan Garth Stud was founded by Mrs Dorothy Evans and her daughter Mrs Deidre Powell in the 1960's and they have now been joined by Mrs Evans's granddaughter Judith Powell. As well as taking an active part in the stud duties, riding and competing with the Stallions and Young stock, Judith was the Young Ambassador for the Welsh Pony and Cob Society in 2006 and represented the Society both in the U.K. and abroad. Mrs Dorothy Evans, in recognition to her long interest in the breeding quality Welsh Ponies and Cobs was made an Honorary Life Member of the Welsh Pony and Cob Society and she took a keen interest in Stud matters until her death in 2010... Lan Garth Stud has a careful selective breeding programme to give ability and temperament, each given time to mature and grow into successful athletes competing in many equestrian spheres.
