Ben grew up in Gwinnett County graduating from Buford High School. He then attended The University of Georgia for his undergraduate degree and obtained his law degree from John Marshall Law School.
After law school, Ben joined an insurance defense firm in Athens, Georgia focusing solely on defending personal injury claims. During this time, he received an immense amount of litigation experience and has tried countless cases to verdict. However, he was called to leave the representation of the multi-billion dollar companies and now exclusively represents individuals and families who have been injured by others.
Ben is an active member of the State Bar of Georgia, the American Bar Association, the American Association for Justice and the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia, The Supreme Court of Georgia, The Court of Appeals of Georgia and all State and Superior Courts in Georgia.
Ben is an accomplished amateur golfer who regularly competes in state and national amateur tournaments. He has three kids, Amy, Will and Caroline, and He and his wife, Hannah, are expecting another child soon. is also an avid Atlanta sports fan and regularly attends Braves, Falcons and Hawks games with his wife and son.
Trey is a graduate of Shorter College and obtained his law degree from Mississippi College School of Law located in Jackson, Mississippi. Prior to opening his own practice, Trey represented many of Georgia's largest hospitals and healthcare systems in the area of third party reimbursement. While Trey's focus is primarily personal injury, his background in healthcare related issues and their impact on personal injury cases, allows Avery Carnes to maximize the value of your case. He began is legal career with a boutique law firm in Cartersville, Georgia, specializing in motorcycle related injuries.
Through his representation of the injured throughout Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi, Trey gained great insight into successfully negotiating and resolving outstanding medical bills, provider liens and subrogation claims.
