Caird Hall

The Caird Hall is situated in the heart of the City Centre of Dundee, overlooking the pedestrianised City Square. The Caird Hall is the building with the ten Doric columns to the South of the Square.

Charlie Malone

Charlie Malone was elected as a Scottish Labour Party Councillor for Ward Number 2, Lochee in May 2017. Charlie is also a lecturer in International Management at Abertay University with a specific interest in sustainable communities.

David Dorward

David had 43 years working in local government and developed extensive experience in all financial matters and senior management. In 1995 he was appointed Director of Finance for Dundee City Council and in 2009 was appointed Chief Executive of the Council and retired from that position in November 2014. In 2015 he was appointed Associate Director of the Rank Foundation, a UK national charity. His role was to manage 21 local community projects in Dundee, that were funded to the tune of £3.5m over 6 years. In 2016 David founded the local charity Dundee Bairns, to provide meals to children and families who live in deprived areas of Dundee. In seven years, the charity has delivered over 500,000 meals. In 2016 he became a Director of Dundee United Football Club and resigned in December 2022. He is currently either Chair or Treasurer of the following local charities: Dundee United Community Trust, Launch It Dundee, Dundee Law and Alexanders Community Development. In 2018 he was appointed by Her Majesty the Queen as a Deputy Lord Lieutenant of the City of Dundee and in 2020 was awarded an MBE for services to children and families David has 3 daughters and has lived in Dundee since 1975.

Emma Donaldson

Judy is Director of Leisure and Culture and Managing Director, Leisure & Culture Dundee by Dundee City Council. She had previously been Head of Library & Information Services at the organisation since 2011 before officially becoming Director in 2021.

Kris Bryce

Kris Bryce is an award-winning executive. Currently Chief Executive of Pitlochry Festival Theatre, Scotland's largest producing theatre located at the heart of Highland Perthshire, Kris' tenure has been marked by significant organisational and strategic growth, including leading a £22 million redevelopment. Previously employed at Dundee Rep and Scottish Dance Theatre as well as Dundee Contemporary Arts, Kris held earlier positions in UK and Canadian arts organisations. Kris is Vice President of UK Theatre, the country's leading performing arts membership body, and previously served on the board of Stellar Quines. He holds an MBA focused on the Creative Industries and is an advocate for talent development. His leadership is defined by a strong focus on coaching and mentoring future leaders, fostering an environment of strategic growth and innovation.

Lynne Short

Lynne Short was first elected as a councillor in 2016, and has served in a variety of roles including convener of the city development committee. She is currently depute convener of the community safety and public protection committee. A proud Dundonian, Lynne has worn many hats in a wide and varied career, notably as a tour guide throughout Europe, property manager, surveyor and mum. Passionate about active travel, sport, connectivity and social justice, Lynne is a tireless and fearless supporter of Dundee and its people.

Nasreen Mohammed BEM

An Equality and Diversity Consultant and a Board member of the Dundee International Women's Centre, Nasreen brings extensive experience of business, community development, and professional experience in the field of equality, diversity and inclusion, and a specific contribution in relation to her links with the ethnic minority community in Dundee.

Robert Emmott

Robert grew up in Liverpool and studied Chemistry at Durham University. On graduating he trained as a CIPFA accountant with the NHS in Cumbria. After a spell as a management consultant in London he relocated to the Western Isles in 1999 to work for Comhairle nan Eilean Siar. He became the Comhairle's Director of Finance in 2005 and took on a number of additional responsibilities over the years becoming the Director for Assets, Finance and Resources before joining Dundee City Council as Executive Director of Corporate Services in February 2021.

Steve Grimmond

Steve Grimmond is a recently retired Local Authority Chief Executive with wide experience of working at the most senior levels in government, corporate and voluntary sectors. He has a keen interest in, and has undertaken a range of leading roles across the Sport, Leisure & Cultural sectors. He is a passionate advocate for the Arts and is a Painter & Ceramicist.

Sue Moody

Sue Moody spent more than 30 years working with and for crime victims, as Director of Victim Support Scotland, as a Law Lecturer at Dundee University and most recently as Head of Victim Information and Advice within COPFS, the Scottish prosecution service. She has been involved as a Board member and volunteer in arts-based organisations and heritage projects locally and nationally. She was a founder member of the Charity Law Research Unit at Dundee University and continues to develop her expertise in charity governance.

Will Dawson

Will is an elected member for the SNP within Dundee City Council. After leaving school he went on to higher education studying hospitality at Inverness College and worked for a number of years in the industry. He has since gone on to work for a major utilities company in a variety of roles. He became a Councillor for the then Eastport ward in 2003 and has been proud to represent the East End ward in which he lives since 2007. Will has been the convener of the City Development committee and is currently the convener of the Development Management committee (Planning). He firmly believes that the city is quickly becoming the place to be and that organisations such as Leisure & Culture Dundee have a huge role to play in the renaissance of the city. Will is currently the Chair of the Health, Safety and Property Committee.
