ARCHIBALD MEMORIAL HOME

Archibald Memorial Home is a non-profit Indiana corporation dedicated to honor the testamentary intent of Orson Archibald by improving the quality of life of the aged and infirmed deaf through the provisions of quality residential services. This 501C organization is run by Indiana Deaf senior citizens and its members. Archibald Memorial Home owns 347 acres which is 3.5 miles from Brookston, Indiana... In 1911, Orson Archibald deeded his farm to establish the Archibald Memorial Home. In 1937 The Home was finally built. This small nursing home thrived in spite of economic difficulties and changing needs. Many deaf people have worked together to maintain this small home. In 1989 it was necessary to close The Home. It was nearly five years before AMH re-opened the new program at an Indianapolis nursing facility.
