Christian L. Christiansen

Christian has technical expertise in the areas of molecular biology and chemistry. In addition to his biotech background, Christian also has IP expertise within the pharmaceutical field. He has experience with prosecution of patents, utility models, performance of freedom-to-operate analysis, due diligence analysis, and in particular infringement and validity opinions. Furthermore, Christian has extensive experience with filing and prosecution of Supplementary Protection Certificates (SPCs) within the pharmaceutical as well as the agricultural fields in the Nordic countries. Christian has been involved in numerous court cases in Denmark and the other Nordic countries as strategic adviser and coordinator of complex patent cases. This role has also involved advice and assistance in relation to re-examination and limitation procedures before the Danish PTO as well as opposition and appeal proceedings before the EPO. Christian has successfully completed the CEIPI Course on Patent Litigation in Europe at the University of Strasbourg, and he will therefore receive the European Patent Litigation Certificate under the Unified Patent Court when it enters into force.

Else Lawrence

Else has technical expertise within the areas of mechanical engineering and materials technology, especially within composite materials. Else works with companies and universities in Denmark, Norway, and Germany, as well as ESA. From her former jobs she has special experience within polymer-based composite materials. Else has great experience with novelty searches, patentability evaluations, and drafting and prosecution of patent applications. She also has experience with oppositions and re-establishment of rights. Further, she is an experienced advisor helping individuals, universities and companies choosing suitable IP strategies. Else's work life has been focused on the mechanical field. She has worked as an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Aalborg and as a development engineer with the development of composite panels for protection of military vehicles and buildings.

Jakob Schwalbe Lohmann

Jakob has technical expertise within the areas of molecular biology, biotechnology, medicine, food technology, agriculture and protein technology. He is a named co-inventor on several patent applications and patents. He is highly experienced within patentability assessments, freedom-to-operate analysis (FTO), and due diligence analysis. Previously, Jakob has worked on research projects relating to "single-molecule-detection tools" at the Institute of health sciences at the University of Aarhus and has worked specifically with DNA, RNA and protein technology. Jakob holds a PhD in Medicine and supports tto in their work with projects within Life Sciences.

Jon Wulff Petersen - CEO

Jon is specialized in technology transfer, public-private innovation partnerships, technology roadmaps, technology scouting, and IP and technology valuation. His primary experience lies within the areas of cleantech, especially energy and environmental technologies (waste and water); micro- and nanotechnology, and electronics. Jon has been the CEO of tto since 2005, and has led a large number of assignments for Scandinavian companies and universities in Northern Europe. Previously Jon has been deputy director of Risø National Laboratory and director of the Micro- and Nanoelectronics Center (MIC) at DTU. In addition, Jon has an Executive MBA from SIMI.

Katja Sørensen

Katja is a European patent attorney and is heading a team specializing in food, agriculture and chemistry. She has technical experience within chemistry, biochemistry, food science, organic chemistry and inorganic chemistry. Especially, Katja has extensive knowledge of patenting food ingredients and food technology. She has worked with IP since 2000 and is an experienced advisor within patent strategies, identification and exploitation of patentable technologies and freedom-to operate analyses. Further, Katja has experience in developing and using IPR-analyses as a tool for commercialization of IP. Katja works with commercialization of IP belonging to companies as well as universities. Katja also has special expertise in performing searches in patent and scientific databases.

Michael Friis Sørensen

He has represented various clients in cases with IPR conflicts, including litigation, and has successfully attended oral proceedings before the Examining and Opposition divisions at the EPO. Michael has worked as a research engineer within acoustics, noise and vibration. He keeps his technical skills up-to-date by participating in various seminars, e.g. by Danish Acoustical Society and Audio Engineering Society. Further, he is active as an external censor for engineering student exams at Aalborg University and Aarhus University School of Engineering.

Shinji Okayama

Shinji has technical expertise within the areas of fluid dynamics and mechanical engineering. His PhD was dealing with Stirling Engine utilizing liquid oscillation. Shinji has extensive experience with drafting and prosecution of patent applications and has handled many cases related to the core invention of the battery of electric vehicles. Further, he has in-depth knowledge about the structures and the cartridge of ink-jet printers, injection system for molding, semi-conductor, and exposure device. Shinji has vast experience as a patent attorney and likewise as a technical engineer. Shinji was the primary engineer behind a project concerning the development of an electric scooter. Later on in his career, Shinji worked at one of the leading Japanese patent agency Wakabayashi Patent Agency.
