The Independent Living Center of North Central Ohio was established in 1993. We are a non-profit consumer-controlled organization working for, and with, individuals with disabilities in Ashland, Crawford, Huron, Knox, Morrow, and Richland counties. We provide core services in advocacy, information and referral, peer support, independent living skills, transition, and other services, using collaborative efforts when needed... We support public policy that strengthens civil rights. Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, and the Landmark Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) ensure that citizen with disabilities enjoy the same liberties as those without disabilities, guaranteeing access to housing, transportation, employment, healthcare, and education, whether physical or programmatic.
