Boris Michels

Boris Michels is equally engaged in his home market as well as abroad. For nearly 20 years, Boris has advised and audited companies from a range of sectors. He is particularly concerned about arriving at individual sound judgments for the needs of his clients. In addition to the provisions of IFRS and the German Commercial Code (HGB), he has extensive knowledge of VermAnlG and the KAGB (German Capital Investment Code), which he regularly applies in auditing closed-end funds. Boris is also very well acquainted with real estate, project development, renewable energies, aviation, and biotech. Another focus is accounting-related consultancy and auditing. As a representative of nbs partners, Boris has also lead-managed numerous workshops in Boston, Lausanne, Warsaw, Bangkok and Brussels as part of the GGI (Geneva Group International) and as Global Chairperson of the Audit, Reporting and Compliance Practice Group.

Daniel Danneberg

Daniel-André Danneberg's core competency lies in auditing, especially year-end audits and Group audits in accordance with IFRS and German Commercial Code (HGB), as well as preparing financial statements for medium-sized and listed companies. Other focuses of his professional activity relate to audits in performance measures as well as the taxation of companies. During his studies, Daniel-André Danneberg worked for a Big Four company as a working student. After his studies in 2015 he became part of our team at nbs partners. In his spare time he finds balance to his work in football, political reading and travelling.

Dirk Kohlenberg

As part of the multidisciplinary unit of lawyers, tax advisors and auditors, Dirk advises at nbs partners national and international companies, their shareholders, managing directors and supervisory board members on the interface with tax law, especially in the areas of commercial and corporate law as well as M & A. Dirk is specialized and has extensive experience in the areas of company formation, ongoing advice and liquidation with regard to all forms of partnerships and corporations, formation of joint ventures, company transactions/acquisitions, corporate succession, company restructuring and shareholder disputes. In addition to his high level of professional competence and empathy, Dirk convinces through his distinctive entrepreneurial and strategic thinking and acting for the benefit of the client. From 2010 to 2019 Dirk worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers Legal Aktiengesellschaft Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft in the Corporate / M & A department in Hamburg and was responsible for numerous transactions and restructurings.

Dr. Karsten Bornholdt

No one else here knows as much about banking and capital market law as Karsten Bornholdt. He not only possesses a great deal of professional expertise and vast experience; clients also appreciate his prudent and purposeful approach. This makes him a very popular contact and consultant in the market. Among other things, Karsten advises a major bank, several regional banks, issuing houses, and fund companies. The 47-year-old heads the nbs partners litigation team and coordinates all the briefs at our firm when it comes to organising capital investment projects. He is also responsible for the employment law team at nbs partners.

Jaroslaw N. Nowak

With his many years of experience, Jaroslaw Norbert Nowak advises companies as well as individuals in data protection, compliance and insolvency law. Olaf Matschernus

Olaf Matschernus is our man for tricky cases. For many years, Olaf has successfully tackled the most complex disputes in court. What strategy does it take to not only reach our goal, but to get the best possible results for our clients in the legal proceedings? Olaf does not rest until he finds the solution. A certified specialist in banking and capital market law, he is supported by a whole team of lawyers. Olaf has advised banks, issuers, funds and leasing companies at nbs partners since 2012. Pascal Verma

Making business decisions usually also means making staff decisions. At nbs partners, Pascal Verma covers the entire consulting area of employment law, including areas where it intersects with social security law. He successfully completed the theoretical basis for the title of "employment law specialist" in a "Juristische Fachseminare" specialized employment law course, and is therefore well versed in individual and collective labor law. Pascal Verma primarily advises decision-makers and HR managers on the employer side, but also employees and works councils. Thanks to his extensive expertise, he can be of help when it comes to drafting employment contracts, as well as advising clients on drafting termination agreements, and represents them in unfair dismissal lawsuits and employment law measures in connection with corporate structuring measures. Pascal Verma also specializes in data protection law for companies, groups of companies, and consultants (e.g. lawyers, tax consultants, auditors).
