Alistair Gill

Job Titles:

Alistair brings with him over 30 years of industry experience in computational analysis across a range of industries including oil & gas, renewables and offshore wind, and defence. He holds a Professional Engineering license. Experience After graduating with his bachelor's degree, Alistair initially entered the defence industry with the UK Ministry of Defence, progressing to Senior Professional Technology Officer involved in aircraft gas turbines and guided anti-armor weapon projects. Alistair then joined the energy industry, based in Aberdeen, Scotland. He worked in an advanced computational analysis role for a prime contractor performing non-linear Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) on a wide range of structural integrity and fluid flow projects and designing foundation structures for offshore wind turbines. Remaining in the energy sector he then joined a fledgling engineering consultancy business specializing in digital engineering and an early adopter of a wider use of CFD in the oil and gas sector. This business grew to the point where Alistair emigrated to the US to open an office in Houston, Texas. Where he has resided since 2006. Alistair joined Element Digital Engineering in 2022 and is responsible for developing the business and technical capability in North America. He works closely with his UK colleagues and remains technically engaged in a variety of projects. Alistair is based in our Houston office. Allan Leighton - Chairman

Andrew Palliser

Andrew is a seasoned professional with extensive knowledge in the field of environmental monitoring. He has over 20 years of experience working in this field, both in the United Kingdom and the Middle East. Currently, he is responsible for managing the business operations of the Element Middle East environmental department, and also provides technical consulting services to clients. Experience Andrew's area of expertise is industrial emissions monitoring and was one of the first to be certified for the UK EA MCERTS Level 2 engineer qualification in 2003. He has been a part of the Element team since 2013. Prior to Element, Andrew worked for Environmental Scientifics Group in the UK. Following 8 years as an Environmental Engineer he undertook the role of Business Manager for the Environmental department and was responsible for the daily operations and business management for the largest air quality and emissions monitoring team in the UK. With Element he has been working alongside many of the Gulf Cooperation Council's (GCC) major industry, consultants, contractors, and developers. In the process, he gained considerable experience working on, and delivery of, numerous major environmental monitoring projects including stack emissions, ambient air quality, indoor air quality, industrial hygiene, noise, and groundwater testing. Andrew has a regional role covering the whole GCC and is based out of the Element lab in Dubai Investment Park. Dr. Basab Bhattacharya

Dr. Basab Bhattacharya serves as the technical lead for Element's laboratories in the MEAP region, bringing to the table an extensive experience of over 20 years in the industry. Operating under the guidance of the Global Technical Team, Dr. Basab's responsibilities encompass the development of Element's services for the Energy Industry. This includes conducting failure analyses, Engineering Critical Assessments, and addressing concerns related to fatigue and fracture mechanics. Additionally, Dr. Basab now heads the NDT team for Element Asia. Career highlights Dr. Basab's technical acumen shines through in his presentations delivered at international conferences and his contributions of meticulously peer-reviewed technical papers to scholarly journals. Dr. Basab oversees Element's labs in the Middle East and India, ensuring localized testing for Energy hubs and adherence to internationally recognized codes and standards. Dr. Basab has made notable contributions as the lead of Element Asia, particularly in successfully overseeing the completion of lead testing and ECA activities for numerous pipeline projects in the MEAP region. During his tenure with a reputable NDT service provider, Dr. Basab has overseen Automated Ultrasonic Testing (AUT) and Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) inspection activities for pipelines.

Jo Wetz - CEO

Jo was appointed CEO of the Element Group in 2019 and is responsible for the overall strategic direction and growth of the Group. He previously served as the Group CFO since 2012 and was a board member of the Group following its buyout from Stork in 2010. Before Element, he built a career in private equity and led the investment in several global testing businesses in both Europe and the US, including the buyout of Element in 2010.

Ruth Prior - CFO

Ruth was appointed as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), joining Element's Executive Team and the Board on 1 June 2020 and reporting to Jo Wetz, CEO. She is responsible for all the finance, procurement, legal, tax and IT activities within the business, and brings significant financial control, M&A, change management, strategy and business planning expertise to the Group. Ruth is a qualified accountant with a degree in Biochemistry and spent nearly a decade in private equity, working across a variety of sectors including waste, renewables, music, publishing and retail.
