Barbara Rae

Barbara has been coordinating cycle training in East Ayrshire schools for over 20 years and is excited to deliver Bikeability Scotland training to school children across the local authority.

Bernard Ruddy

Bernard is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of Cycling Scotland's finances and corporate services. Previously he worked in a similar role for ten years with a charity in the social care sector.

Bill Butterworth

Bill has been the Bikeability Scotland coordinator for Perth and Kinross since 2019. He is encouraging all the schools in Perth and Kinross to be involved with Bikeability Scotland's training programme to give children the confidence and skills to enjoy cycling for fun and a way to keep fit.

Catherine Tonner

Catherine has been a Road Safety Coordinator at West Dunbartonshire Council for over 25 years. Cycling is part of her Road Safety remit, and she organises cycle training throughout the year to around 25 schools. She has been with the Bikeability Scotland programme from the beginning and is proud to provide children with an essential life skill.

Christopher Johnson

Christopher manages Cycling Scotland's training and education projects, including national standard cycle training for all ages and vulnerable road user awareness for other road users. Previously he worked in project management with NHS National Services Scotland, and he serves on the UK Cycle Training Standards Board.

Craig Dalziel

Craig has been delivering Bikeability Scotland for 11 years in a variety of local authorities. He has been in his current role with Renfrewshire Leisure since January 2019 and is responsible for 49 primary schools, 12 secondary schools plus several independent schools.

Denise manages communications, policy and monitoring for Cycling Scotland, including the Give Cycle Space and Pedal for Scotland campaigns. Denise is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and previously managed communications teams at Energy Saving Trust and Police Scotland.

Elaine has been teaching children to cycle since 2004 when she first started as a Road Safety Officer with the Shetland Islands Council. She is based in Lerwick but travels all over Shetland to all of the Islands' schools, which include five junior high schools and 24 primary schools.

June has been a coordinator for six years with Aberdeenshire Council. She works full-time and is responsible for road safety education and training within all sectors of the community. Her remit includes the coordination of Bikeability Scotland, involving 150 primary schools in Aberdeenshire that have a very high uptake of Level 2 training.

Kath has responsibility for the Cycling Friendly awards and development grant funding programme, promoting cycling in workplaces, education, social housing and communities across Scotland. Kath previously worked as Travel Planning & Systems Manager for NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde with responsibility for behavioural change programme promoting sustainable and active travel to the 38,000 workforce. Kath is a member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and Board to Glasgow Eco Trust.

Keith Irving - CEO

Keith became Cycling Scotland's Chief Executive in July 2014 and is responsible for leading the organisation and the delivery of our mission. Previously he led Living Streets Scotland for six years and has worked in transport planning and policy research. He chairs the Cycling Action Plan Delivery Forum and National Cycling Interest Group, and serves on the Road Safety Operational Partnership Group and Police Scotland Tactical Options Working Group.

Rowena Colpitts

TP&E is a social enterprise consultancy which, as part of Cycling Scotland, supports the charity's active travel endeavours through its profits. With nearly 20 years of sustainable transport design and delivery, Rowena leads a team of specialised engineers in working with a variety of clients and partners throughout Scotland. Rowena also promotes good practice in the wider field through the provision of Making Cycling Mainstream courses, offering free Cycling Infrastructure Advice and supporting SOAN - the Scottish Outdoor Access Network.

Sally Duthie

Sally has been working for Adventure Aberdeen for six years as an outdoor instructor and Bikeability Scotland Coordinator in Aberdeen City and works with the majority of the 48 city primary schools delivering sessions and mentoring CTAs.

Stuart Murdoch is the singer and songwriter with Scottish band Belle & Sebastian. Stuart has shared his love for cycling and why he is passing this joy onto his sons: "We love cycling.
