IMMEDIATE COMMUNICATIONS - Key Persons

Chris Urquhart

Chris Urquhart founded Immediate Communications in 2017 after a long career as a broadcast journalist and presenter. His work began as a reporter at radio station 2Day FM, before becoming a newsreader for Triple M, Nova and 2GB. When he switched to television, Chris developed a reputation as an honest and engaging storyteller at Seven News, Nine News, A Current Affair, Today and ABC's 730. As a reporter, Chris travelled around Australia and around the world reporting on news, sport, politics, lifestyle and entertainment. Over the years, he interviewed hundreds of politicians, CEOs, sports stars and entertainers. His work took him from the press gallery at Parliament House in Canberra, to the front line of terrorism at the Lindt Café in Sydney. One day, he'd be raiding drug dens with police SWAT teams in Miami, and on another, chasing crocodiles with the Irwin family in remote North Queensland. Reporting took Chris from red carpet interviews, to the red dust of droughts, and the red flames of bushfires. Over his career, Chris developed a reputation as an engaging interviewer, speaking to a host of A-List stars including Brad Pitt, Russell Crowe, Lionel Richie, Keith Urban and many more. A life in the media helped shape Chris as a master storyteller and interviewer and his lifelong experience, exceptional editorial judgment and strong rapport with people from all walks of life is now invaluable to helping Immediate Communications clients tell their own stories. As director of Immediate Communications, Chris oversees the planning, production and execution of our video projects at Immediate Studios, guiding our experienced crews, producers and editors, all of whom have broadcast and newsroom experience.
