Leading the charge for Preston Hire NZ in the South Island, Duane is a local Canterbury man with over 15 years of experience in relationship building and business development … he will have you booking a crane hire before you even have a site! His combined love of the mainland and finding solutions for customers will ensure you are in safe and experienced hands no matter what site challenge you have. Duane is regularly on the road driving between each of the beautiful cities in the South so give him a call so he can stop by and say hi.

Francois Buys

The leader of Preston Hire New Zealand, Francois is our National Sales Manager. Francois has gained exposure in various fields of mechanical and construction projects during his time spent in South Africa before securing work in New Zealand back in 2015 working in Move logistics where he was able to use his skills of machine moving, rigging and operations to assist in running the day-to-day operations of their machine moving and rigging division. Francois has now taken the reigns of leading Preston Hire NZ, we believe we can Count on Him. When Francois isn't working hard, he likes spending as much time with his family as possible, fishing hiking and "braaing" (South African word for BBQ)

Melanie Dunn

Mel keeps our office ticking and handles everything that our team says is too hard to do. Not only does she get it done, she delivers it with a smile. A long time West Auckland resident, Mel spent 20 years administering in local Government before leaving to have 2 years of peace and quiet to prepare for the high-paced energy she now enjoys at PHNZ every day! Mel is super-efficient and extremely thorough allowing her to keep our office in order whilst also keeping an impressive ‘Ladies That Lunch' schedule and getting her son to endless basketball training sessions and games.

Robert Condrillon

You will recognise Bert from the massive smile he wears every day. We believe we have the happiest Crane Operator in the whole country! With over 10 years of experience operating a variety of cranes in NZ, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, Bert knows his machines and can manoeuvre goods with pinpoint accuracy. You know you are in safe hands when Bert is on your site.

Scott Fraser

Scott is an all-rounder who is highly respected for his experience in tower, mobile and crawler crane logistics and maintenance. Overseeing all our logistics, scheduling and maintenance of the Preston Hire fleet, Scott is the team member who will have your gear ready when you need it. Originally a painter by trade and ex-long haul, nationwide truck driver, Scott is a golf nut and an incredibly hard worker who truly bleeds yellow for PHNZ. No task is too much and our gear is kept in mint condition thanks to his care and commitment.

Warren Petersen

Introducing Preston Hire NZ's very own Mr Fix-It, Warren Petersen. Warren is our fleet maintenance supervisor and looks after all equipment from SuperHoist™ installs, Crane operation , SuperDeck® installs even driving the truck ! He is the best pair of hands you need in the industry. Having previously worked in South Africa as a Workshop Supervisor for over 10 years then as a Workshop Manager for a logistics company before moving to NZ - he is the man you need to get it fixed. Originally, a Diesel Technician by trade and highly respected for his knowledge and adaptabiliy- Warren loves to spend time with his family and friends as well as hunting and catching fish. Warren embraces challenges, loves our equipment and the environment he works in. Our equipment is always in the best condition when Warren is finished with it - Count on Warren.

Werner Koch

The newest addition to the team and North Island's Business Development Manager - Werner Koch Werner brings a wealth of experience under his belt to the team, having previously worked in key account sales in the construction industry and maintaining key customer relationships, he is well respected and known within the industry. With exception of seeing all new business and developing customer relations, Werner is a man of the outdoors. Exploring on his motobike and racing on his mountain bike a couple times a year and tending to his garden he aims to stay active constantly. Enjoying your work and having fun is the key to happiness is the mantra of Werner.
