Shawn D. Knorr

Dr. Knorr was born and raised in Hutchinson, MN. How a "Hutch" boy ended up in Glencoe basically came down to his wife saying you need to get a job. All jokes aside, Glencoe has been a wonderful community for Dr. Knorr to get to know and he loves the genuine, deep relationships he has built through the years with patients. Graduating from Hutchinson High School in 1997, Dr. Knorr played junior hockey for a couple years. Taking a turn to get serious about academics, Dr. Knorr attended St. John's University in Collegeville, MN, where he played hockey and tennis, and was an Academic All American in Hockey. After graduating with honors from St. John's, Dr. Knorr attended the University of Minnesota Dental School. Dr. Knorr enjoyed dental school greatly, as a result he graduated with honors and won awards in dental research, Prosthodontics, Periodontics, and was selected to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. Wanting to gain more experience, Dr. Knorr elected to complete a general practice residency at Hennepin County Medical Center. During dental school, Dr. Knorr married his high school sweetheart, Dr. Jessica Knorr, who is an orthodontist. Moving back to Hutchinson, where they have many family members, they both began their working careers and family. Drs. Knorr have had 5 beautiful daughters, Ava, Julia, Lauren, Layla, and Caroline. Their children have been one of the greatest blessings they have experienced. Dr. Knorr prides himself on being a husband and father first in his life. Spending time with his family is his hobby. They enjoy traveling, boating, playing board games, hiking, skiing, camping, watching movies, joking around, snuggling, reading stories, and enjoying life together. Dr. Knorr and family added a boy dog, Buddy, a Bernedoodle, to the mix in 2019. Dr. Knorr's next love is Dentistry. He is passionate about keeping abreast of the latest technology and techniques. His daughters make fun of him for reading endless non-fiction about dentistry. Ava commented that he used to be fun after seeing him read a dental textbook about dental occlusion. Areas Dr. Knorr is passionate about in staying on the cutting edge are cosmetic dentistry, full mouth rehabilitation, TMJ and bite health, implant dentistry, and whole-body health. Dr. Knorr loves all the art and beauty he creates or replicates in peoples' smiles. Bringing a smile back to health after years of damage and potential neglect is highly gratifying for him. Central to Dr. Knorr's philosophy of care is creating and maintaining strong relationships with patients. Being a man grounded in faith and spirituality, he strives to be loving, kind, and caring to all his patients. From this foundation he can openly and honestly present treatment recommendations he would recommend for his own mouth, family member, or close relative. A smile and health are of utmost importance to Dr. Knorr so he wants every patient to be able to have that "Hollywood smile". Being committed to each relationship, Dr. Knorr does not quit until the patient is 100% satisfied. Dentistry is no small investment and he wants everyone to be a happy, raving fan of Forever Smiles.
