RISING SUN ACCOUNTING - Key Persons

Originally from Southern California, Adam has been in the Seattle area since 1989, outside of a brief stint in NYC to attend New York University as a English major. Adam has worked in nonprofit administration since 2005 and has focused his career exclusively on nonprofit accounting for over ten years, serving a large variety of small but mighty organizations. Adam strives for a client-focused practice that provides stability and clarity to his clients' finances. He believes that every organization has a story and their books are an important reflection of that narrative. Outside of work, Adam enjoys working on his house, local travel, hiking, backpacking the Olympic Peninsula, and bicycle touring. He can be found in a headlamp barbecuing year-round in any kind of weather and will give you the orange crush with three on the wire in a race to 7 (that is to say, he is an avid pool player).

Amy moved to Seattle from Texas with her husband after graduating from Texas A&M. She spent 20 years working for a national security and communication company as a regional manager. For 5 years she also worked in a bookkeeping role at a local faith-based organization. In 2007, she helped to establish a weekly feeding program in Ballard, focused on providing a safe place for the homeless and needy in the community. She is still very active in this program. She began working with Rising Sun Accounting in 2018. When not working with clients, Amy enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, camping, hiking, and reading.

Bob is one of the rare native Seattleites still residing in the area.. After high school, he immersed himself in the culinary arts. Starting at small mom and pop restaurants he rose through the ranks to banquet chef at several major hotels. After becoming a corporate dropout he started serving at a small pub and soon rose to management. Attracted by the numbers side of the business, he began accounting studies at North Seattle College and attained his certification in bookkeeping. In 2005 Bob used his knowledge in food and beverage to assist a small emergency services non-profit in Lake City into a full service food bank. Enjoying the non-profit environment, he joined the team at Rising Sun Accounting to help other non-profits succeed in their missions. When not working or volunteering at the food bank, Bob enjoys growing fresh herbs, perusing cookbooks and binging on Netflix.

Born and raised in the Seattle area, David stuck around to earn Bachelor of Arts and Master's degrees from Seattle Pacific University. He has spent years working with a variety of non-profits as both staff and volunteer, primarily in direct service roles. David is excited to now be working with local nonprofits in a supporting role and studying accounting & bookkeeping. David enjoys spending time with his spouse, cooking and baking (and especially eating), reading, listening to (and sometimes trying to play) an eclectic assortment of music, and getting outside to just sit, walk, or even to go for a swim in the Puget Sound.

Originally from Hilo, Hawaii, Marci has lived in Seattle for over 25 years. She received her accounting degree from the University of Washington and began her career as an auditor for manufacturing and utility clients. With a desire to do more in the community Marci left her audit career to pursue opportunities with nonprofits. She has spent over 15 years working in various nonprofit roles from program manager to executive director. Marci enjoys visits back to Hawaii to be with family, trying out new restaurants, cheering on the Seahawks and baking. She would love to open her own bakery someday.

Stacy grew up in Woodinville, a suburb of Seattle. She received a Bachelors degree from Western Washington University. She is new to the non profit sector and is loving the uniqueness of each client. Her experience ranges from entry level data entry to full charge accountant in various industries for over 14 years. Outside of the office, Stacy loves traveling, wine tasting, going to concerts/plays/shows, and she is an avid reader - often reading at least 2 or 3 books per week. She also has a wedding consulting/day of coordinating business on the weekends that keeps her busy, especially in the spring and summer. Stacy's biggest love of all though, is her family. She lives in Lake Tapps/Auburn with her husband and their two young boys. They are blessed with a large family who all live in the Seattle and surrounding areas and are often getting together for gatherings of some sort.
