Our uniqueness is a great source of pride and we defend it to the hilt. Everything we do in school is built on common sense, expecting the highest standards of manners and behaviour and focussing on our pupils' wellbeing, attitude to learning and academic progress and achievement. We believe that learning and spending time at school should be fun and memorable. We enjoy learning in our amazing outside environment and have a well-established outside learning programme and lots of outdoor field trips... The typical class size here at Borrowdale is around 10 pupils per class and we provide excellent staffing ratios in each class. This means that we get to know every pupil inside-out which helps us to support pupils on their individual learning journey - not just academic, but also social and emotional, alongside character development traits, to ensure that each child is fulfilling their potential.
