Alan Walendowski

Alan Walendowski is a Software Engineer for PyrAmes with over 30 years of technical leadership in software, product, and technology development. He has extensive experience developing mobile and server-side applications, and spent 10 years at Palo Alto Research Center where his projects included new networking protocols, intelligent mobile recommender systems, and mobile applications for DARPA's Transformative Apps program. He holds a BS in Computer Science from Boston University and has over 20 issued or pending patents.

Art Muir

Art Muir is a Product Manager with PyrAmes. Art has over 30 years experience in product engineering, new product introduction experience, and new business development. He has been responsible for the development and build of the electronics for PyrAmes as well as for regulatory and quality activities. He holds BS degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering from the University of California, Davis, as well as an MBA from the Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine. He has 10 issued or pending patents.

Brahm Goldstein

Dr. Goldstein is the Vice President, Research and Development, Hematology at CSL Behring. He has held leadership roles at several biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies including Baxter, Shire, Novo Nordisk, and Ikaria. He was formerly the Chief of Pediatric Critical Care at Oregon Health & Science University where his research focused on pediatric vital sign monitoring.

Dave Richardson

David Andre

Previously she was a research scientist at the Space Science Institute, and before that at California Institute of Technology, where she led many research studies and discoveries. Junjun received a BS in Astronomy and an MS in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics from Peking University and a PhD in Planetary Sciences with a minor in Applied and Computational Mathematics from CalTech. She has 1 pending patent.

Keith Drake

Will Sutherland

Prior to PyrAmes, Will was Senior VP of Manufacturing Operations for Amber Kinetics, Inc., working on renewable energy solutions where he was responsible for supply chain management and opening their manufacturing facility. Earlier, Will was VP of Operations and held other senior leadership positions at Artificial Muscle (acquired by Bayer MaterialScience and Parker Hannifin), Wolfe Engineering, and Matheson Gas. He has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California (Berkeley) and 2 issued or pending US patents.

Xina Quan - CEO, Founder

Xina Quan is Co-founder and CEO of PyrAmes and has been developing PyrAmes' technology with Stanford Professor Zhenan Bao since 2015. Prior to starting PyrAmes, Xina led the R&D efforts at Artificial Muscle Inc., a venture-backed start-up spun out of SRI, which resulted in the first commercial application of electroactive polymers. She played a critical role in the acquisition of AMI by Bayer MaterialScience in 2010 and by Parker Hannifin in 2014. Before joining AMI, Xina was the Vice President of R&D at Cambrios, a venture-backed start-up where she led the efforts to pioneer the use of silver nanowires in transparent conductive inks. At Lumileds Lighting, a joint venture of Philips and Agilent Technologies, she managed the product development and release of novel high-power white LED products which are now used ubiquitously as cell-phone camera flash chips. The first start-up Xina worked with was DigiLens where she led the technical development of materials and processes for switchable holographic gratings. She was responsible for DigiLens' acquisition by SBGLabs. Before moving to start-ups, Xina was a Director at AT&T Bell Laboratories where she led the Polymer & Chemical Engineering Departments. She has SB and SM degrees from MIT and a PhD from Princeton, all in Chemical Engineering, is a registered patent agent with the USPTO, and has more than 30 issued or pending US patents.

Zhenan Bao - Founder

Lee Professor in Chemical Engineering at Stanford University, with courtesy appointments in Chemistry and Material Science and Engineering. She is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and National Academy of Inventors, founded and is faculty director of the Stanford Wearable Electronics Initiative, and is an affiliated faculty member of the Precourt Institute, Woods Institute, ChEM-H and Bio-X.
