Career: Chris joined the firm in 2007 and specialises in Probate and Estate Administration work. He initially trained at the Leeds Probate Courts where he worked for 5 years before leaving in 2001 to pursue a career in private practice. Interests: Reading, Travelling, Cinema, History and Etymology

Career with Elmhirst Solicitors: John joined the Firm in 1975 and became a Partner in the in 1980. He specialises in all types of property matters, both commercial, agricultural and residential. In addition, he deals with business sales and acquisitions, private client work including wills, IHT planning and large estates. John retired as a partner in 2016, but still works part time on a consultancy basis. Interests: John was a school governor for many years, is a keen sports fan and in his spare time enjoys gardening and cookery.

Keith Haggerty

Career with Elmhirst Parker: Martin qualified as a solicitor after doing his training with Elmhirst and Maxton solicitors and has been with the firm since 1986. He became a Partner in 1992 and works in Selby at the Abbey Yard office. He does a mixed Commercial workload, in particular commercial property, both leasehold and freehold, and has specialised for the last 10 years in Hotels, Public Houses and other licensed property. Interests: Martin is married with two young daughters and when he gets the chance plays golf and goes to watch rugby.

Career with Elmhirst Parker: Simon joined the firm in 1984 and is a Partner and head of our Private Client Department. He specialises in will drafting and estate planning, the creation of trusts, agricultural estates and related tax advice. He also provides a large range of legal services to elderly clients including Lasting Power of Attorney and Court of Protection work. Simon also handles Commercial property transactions and acts for a number of local charities. Simon is a member of STEP (The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners). Interests: In his spare time Simon gardens and plays golf. He also enjoys skiing, game fishing and shooting.

Steve Esmond
