AmCham was founded in 1999 by an initial group of thirty-five American member companies. Today the Chamber represents over two hundred member companies, not-for profit organizations, international financial institutions, and individual members. AmCham's membership is diverse in every respect, both in industry sector, size, and national background: American, Canadian, European (Old and New, East and West), Middle Eastern, Turkish, Asia-Pacific, and last but not least, Kazakhstani. This diversity is our unique strength... Through its policy advocacy initiatives, AmCham provides opportunities for its members and host government officials to engage in an on-going dialogue with the intention of improving the business environment for foreign and local investors alike.
