Ailsa Watson

Ailsa is a qualified Solicitor. She graduated from the University of Aberdeen in 2016, having studied both her Bachelor of Laws (LLB Hons) and Diploma in Professional Legal Practice (DPLP) in Aberdeen. She completed her traineeship with our firm, having joined Raeside Chisholm in July 2016 and having gained experience within our Court department, Private Client and Conveyancing. Ailsa is currently a solicitor within our Private Client department and a valued member of the team.

Alison Chisholm

A director at Raeside Chisholm Solicitors Limited, Alison Chisholm has over 30 years' experience in a broad range of legal matters, ranging from wills, trusts and helping families when loved ones pass away (executry/probate) to domestic conveyancing and all types of commercial work. Alison's current case load involves drafting wills, powers of attorney, administering complex estates involving inheritance tax and assisting older clients (including visiting clients in their own homes and advising on options available as to the level of care to be provided), in addition to advising on guardianships and being appointed by the Court as a guardian. Alison has also tutored on the Diploma in Legal Practice on Wills, Trusts & Executry.

Claire Reid

Claire is our Head of Residential Conveyancing. She graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2001 with Master of Arts, Bachelor of Laws and Diploma in Legal Practice. Claire commenced her legal career in the field of commercial property before specialising in residential conveyancing in 2005. During this time she has seen the impact of changing economic and political climates on the Scottish property market and has gained experience in advising clients accordingly. From first time buyers to investment purchasers, Claire guides clients through all manner of property transactions including sales, purchases, re-mortgages, transfers of title and equity release. She has a friendly, approachable manner and this, along with her wealth of experience, has given her a reputation as a trusted and supportive professional in this field. Free time is rare as two busy children take up a lot of her time, but when she gets the chance Claire enjoys socialising with family and friends, attending drawing and painting classes and, if feeling more energetic, she enjoys Zumba classes and golf.

David Doig

David Doig is a commercial dispute and family law solicitor at Raeside Chisholm Solicitors Limited. David is responsible for firm's large debt collection department. He has many years experience in volume debt recovery, co-ordination of Glasgow Sheriff Court agency appearances and the conduct of Fatal Accident Inquiries on behalf of both employer organisations and bereaved families. He also assists clients offering advice in relation to tenancy and lease matters. He and his team have raised many actions for interdict and interim interdict for a wide variety of clients on various grounds ranging from harassment to breach of contract and has a unique insight when dealing with housing law and problem tenants. He and his team advise their clients on their repairing obligations (both in private and social sectors) and on a tenant's right to retain and ingather rent as well as evicting tenants. In addition to his commercial litigation and dispute resolution work, David also has considerable experience as a family law practitioner and advises on all aspects of family law including financial and child law issues and on separation and divorce. He has acted as a court reporter in Sheriff Court child law matters. He is a member of the Family Law Association and acts as a part time tutor in Civil Court Practice at Glasgow Graduate School of Law. David is a member of the Royal Faculty of Procurators, and was for three years, a member of the Council there.

Elizabeth McPhee

Elizabeth has been with us since Raeside Chisholm started trading, having joined us from another large Glasgow firm. She is experienced in all aspects of legal work and works on a part time basis for Kay in residential conveyancing.

Malcolm Goddard

Job Titles:

Malcolm Goddard is Director and Head of Commercial Property. He has nearly twenty years' experience in commercial property and is highly regarded in his field. Having trained with Dickson Minto, he spent years working with McGrigors in Glasgow and Edinburgh, dealing with household-name clients on a daily basis. Mal has considerable experience in all aspects of commercial property, including extensive leasing, investment acquisitions and disposals, portfolio management and secured lending.

Nikki McIntyre

Nikki works for Malcolm in the commercial conveyancing department and is close to completion of her commercial paralegal qualification.

Pamela Livingstone

Pamela joined Raeside Chisholm in 2005 and qualified as a Paralegal in 2007. She has been an invaluable part of the conveyancing team ever since then and deals with residential sales/ purchases, re-mortgages and mortgage discharges.

Susan McGowan

Job Titles:

Susan joined our residential conveyancing team in January 2020. She has been a residential conveyancing paralegal since completing her diploma at Strathclyde University in 2006. Susan deals mainly with residential sales, re-mortgages and mortgage discharges. She assists the conveyancing dept with residential purchase transactions. She also issues potential clients with fee quotations and can sometimes be the first point of contact with the team. Outwith the office Susan enjoys live music often attending gigs throughout the country. She also loves the great outdoors, but most of her free time is taken up making jewellery.
