Carrie Sanchez

Carrie Sanchez has been with us since 1999. Carrie is the quintessential team player and can help with anything from a basic tube change to providing full office support. In addition to making sure things run smoothly in our Berkeley office, she diligently handles the insurance billing for all of the Better Hearing Centers.

Cathy Howard

Job Titles:
  • Accounting & Operations Manager
Cathy began her career in the travel business working for a wholesale tour company/travel insurance brokerage where she held the position of Vice President/Marketing. She took some time off to start a family and returned to work in 2000 as the bookkeeper for CSG Better Hearing Center. Through the years CSG expanded, adding multiple locations, and her position evolved to include the duties of Marketing and Operations Manager. Cathy assists with the overall management of the corporation which includes a wide variety of responsibilities. Cathy has strong communication skills and always tries to see the big picture and focus on what's best for all CSG locations, its staff, and patients.

Debbie Flores

Job Titles:
  • Hearing Instrument Specialist
Mrs. Flores has had many years of experience working with the hearing impaired as a Hearing Instrument Specialist since being licensed by the state in 1987. She performs hearing tests to determine the need for amplification and counsels regarding all available styles and technologies of hearing aids. Mrs. Flores attends many training and continuing education programs each year to maximize her effectiveness and provide excellence in service at the center. Mrs. Flores is an expert programmer of digital hearing instruments and specializes in difficult to fit hearing losses. Member Hearing Healthcare Providers

Fran Hojilla

Fran has been part of CSG Better Hearing Center since 2014. With her extensive background in customer service, Fran ensures that our patients are given the utmost care. Whether on the phone or in person, Fran greets everyone with a warm smile. She truly enjoys working with our patients and staff and is always willing to help in any way possible. Fran feels very fortunate to have found her place on the CSG team, where she is part of a rapidly advancing industry that keeps people connected to their loved ones and active lifestyles.

Jane Warford

Jane has worked for the Better Hearing Center for more than 25 years. She took a break to raise her family and returned in 2013. As an audiologist, Jane naturally combines her passion for technology with her passion for helping others. She actively keeps up with the latest technology and uses her knowledge and experience to help each patient find a hearing solution that will be a perfect fit based on hearing loss and lifestyle needs.

Kristy Reeder

Kristy has been a dedicated and integral member of the CSG team since 2005. She enjoys working with the audiologists and patients to ensure continuity of care and the best customer service. Kristy has always been passionate about health care and helping others. She loves that being part of the CSG Better Hearing team allows her to help people change their lives through better hearing.

Marjorie Alcantara

Mark J. Sanford

Mark J. Sanford, clinical audiologist and president of CSG Better Hearing Services, Inc., has 30 years of experience in hearing health care. He has owned and managed CSG Better Hearing Center in Walnut Creek since 1994 and later expanded the business by adding locations in other Bay Area cities and Monterey. He earned his master's degree in communicative disorders, audiology, at the University of Texas in Dallas. As an expert in hearing loss and hearing devices, Mark gives presentations locally, nationally, and internationally, including recent trips to England, Scotland, Ireland, Australia, Canada, and Germany. In addition, Mark instructs new Lyric providers around the world in sizing and fitting procedures. In 2010 Mark received the first ever Elite Award of Excellence given by Elite Hearing Network for his specialized work training audiologists to be Lyric providers. Mark is a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association, Academy of Dispensing Audiologists, Hearing Review Advisory Board, and member and chairman (2011-2013) of the Elite Hearing Network Advisory Board. In the past, Mark has been a member of the GN ReSound Advisory Board, Phonak Advisory Board, Hatis Advisory Board, and Vortis Technology Board.

Michele Mitchell

Michele joined the Better Hearing Center team in 2019. She is a native San Franciscan and comes to us with a background in customer service in the legal and medical fields. Michele is family focused and has a passion for helping people. It is this passion that makes her an ideal fit as the Patient Care Coordinator in our San Francisco location. Michele is warm and witty and loves being part of helping our patients with their hearing needs, keeping them connected to their daily activities and loved ones.

Shui-Lan Lee

Job Titles:
  • Audiologist
Shui-Lan Lee was born in Taiwan and immigrated to the United States when she was 2 years old, and she remains fluent Cantonese. Raised and educated in San Francisco, her hearing aid experience began in 1987 when she became a licensed hearing aid dispenser for the Emporium Hearing Aid Department. She later served as a proctor for the Hearing Aid Dispensers Exam on behalf of the Department of Consumer Affairs. She completed her master's degree in audiology from San Francisco State University in 1992 and earned her Doctorate of Audiology from A.T. Still University of Health Sciences in Arizona in 2009. Providing hearing health care has been a challenging but highly rewarding experience, and Shui-Lan has found her life greatly enriched through bonds she has formed with the patients and their family and friends she has met at the office. She is pleased to be part of the staff at Golden Gate Hearing Services and to provide continued services to the hearing-impaired community.

Tamara Anderson

Tamara Anderson graduated from medical school overseas in 1981, specializing in diseases of the ear. She was head of the ENT department at a regional medical facility from 1982-1997. She immigrated to the United States in 1997 and successfully owned and operated an audiology practice in North Carolina for many years. Tamara joined CSG Better Hearing Center in 2008 and specializes in seeing our patients who wear the Lyric. With her vast knowledge and experience in hearing health and with the Lyric, she has become a Lyric expert and now trains other hearing professionals throughout the United States on her sizing and fitting techniques. In addition to her professional approach, Tamara's charm and warm personality are endeared by our patients.
