CHRISTOPHER A. GANTZ

A principal data scientist and senior quantitative research professional, Christopher Gantz is a sought-after innovator who creates unique, highly effective data-driven solutions. An accomplished, team-oriented professional who is passionate about using data science, artificial intelligence, and data-driven analytics to frame and solve finance, investment, and practical business problems, then using the results to inform business decisions, Mr. Gantz specializes in developing automated reporting and investment analysis of active and passive investment strategies in various software frameworks and platforms. Mr. Gantz began his career as a Technical Staff Member at multiple companies before being recruited by Sun Microsystems' Enterprise Services team as a Consulting and Systems Support Engineer V. He rapidly advanced to a Staff Engineer position with Sun Microsystems' Sun Services Engineering, Software Serviceability Group [SSE]), where he worked with Product Design to improve software serviceability requirements adoption throughout software development and was key in influencing the implementation of automated diagnosis tools via product expertise and evangelization. In this role, Mr. Gantz learned how to reduce customer issue downtime by creating structured client issue databases that could provide automated solutions via data science and artificial intelligence (AI) techniques. Prior to joining Data Science & Analytics (DS&A) Corporation, Mr. Gantz was a Sr. Investment Analyst/Portfolio Manager and lead Data Scientist for AMG National Trust Bank in the Investment Research and Capital Management Group, respectively. In this position, his primary role was to enhance quantitative elements of numerous vital analytic software models and tools used by the Investment Research, Portfolio Trading, and Equity Portfolio Management teams to conduct investment research, analysis, and forecasting. In addition, Mr. Gantz was also the team's lead designer and developer of new quantitative analytic software models and tools; in fact, he delineated, implemented, and integrated the technology architecture that supports AMG's quantitative fundamental analysis investment research. In 2020, Mr. Gantz left AMG to become a Principal Data Scientist and Head of Research & Development and Solutions Engineering with Data Science & Analytics (DS&A) Corporation. In this position his primary role is to utilize his strong background in statistics, engineering, and computer science to lead the data science research and solutions engineering capabilities with an emphasis on exploratory, predictive, and causal inference methodologies. Mr. Gantz is presently researching how distributed ledger technology and quantum computing can be effectively utilized within data science and artificial intelligence. In addition to his work with DS&A, he is also an adjunct Faculty member with the University of Denver, Daniels College of Business online MBA program and an affiliate faculty member with the Anderson College of Business and Computing at Regis University. Mr. Gantz lives in Denver, Colorado with his spouse, three children, and two dogs. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, continuous learning, teaching, practicing yoga, and taking long, meditative walks with his dogs.
