Dr. John J. Martinelli

Dr. John J. Martinelli began practice in 1965. A graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Dr. Martinelli studied under Dr. William Feinbloom, the developer of low vision devices that are used around the world today. He also studied under Dr. John (Jack) Neil, developer of the modern contact lens. Dr. Martinelli specializes in fitting bifocal, keratoconus, and many other specialty contact lenses.

Holding degrees in both Medicine (MD) and Optometry (OD), Dr. Martinelli continues to dedicate his knowledge and attention for the betterment of his patients. With close to 35 years of private practice experience managing and treating a high volume and extensive range of eye conditions, he delivers a truly unique patient experience. Dr. Martinelli is a graduate of St. George's University School of Medicine, Pennsylvania College of Optometry, as well as Washington & Jefferson College. He is a member of the American Medical Association (AMA), Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO), and member of the American Optometric Association (AOA). In addition to his private practice, Martinelli Eye & Laser Centers, Dr. Martinelli's work has been published in leading U.S. journals. He enjoys teaching and served as a clinical preceptor in ocular disease for the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University for many years. He has spoken nationally and internationally on medical eye care, glaucoma, and refractive procedures such as LASIK. In 2017 Dr. Martinelli founded the popular Facebook group, CME4OD, teaching pertinent clinical medicine to nearly 2000 other practicing doctors around the world. His latest project, Ophthalmic Physician Consulting, aims to provide current and future private practitioners guidance, assistance, as well as key secrets to success.
